Insane that the full patch for the 64 bit version has surpassed the 1GB mark.
That amount is rarely downloaded. That is the amount for the full patch and might download that much if you were starting with 14393.0. For me from 14393.693 it downloaded about 67 MB. It is after all a Cumulative Update and only downloads what you do not have.

Sadly though where I work we use a 3rd party tool to push out updates, so it means pushing a 1gb file to every machine on the network.

This release is only available on the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

Fool that I am, I downloaded and tried to install the X64 version.
It fails with a "data store corrupt" error. (Perhaps that's not quite an accurate quote.)
I'm getting good download performance, so I tried again. No difference.
Any suggestions? (Please don't post "wait for the release". I can do that without help.)
To reply to my own post:
It turns out that I had some sort of OS corruption that I was unable to diagnose and fix. I tried a repair install (upgrade in place, or whatever it's known as now). Didn't fix it.
A clean install allowed the upgrade. Joy.

With the 32GB RAM shown in your System Specs you should be using a 64-bit version of Windows.
That download is not on Windows Update for my 64-bit Version 1607 Build 14393.693 [or Build 14393.rs1_release.161220-1747].
I've been rather remiss is saying there's 2 different versions of Win10 [RTM/Released to Market and Insider Preview] but with this thread I now have to say there's 3 different versions, adding Release Preview ring to the mix.

What's your take on this, @Brink? Is it ready for prime time? It's running fine on my Surface Pro 3, but I'm wondering if I want to roll it out to my laptops, family PCs, and production machines. Why do you think MS released this only "half-way" (to the Catalog but not via WU)?
TIA for your thoughts on this matter. All other interested parties welcome to weigh in, too.
