You deleted them??? How? I don't see any option for doing that. I can only make them small and turn Live Tile off. Narrowing the menu to a single column doesn't work either. The tiles are all blank and small, but stubbornly deny destruction.

Most if not all of the Tiles can be Unpinned from Start, shouldn't change what is on the list of programs on the Start button menu. Same for cleaning up the Taskbar except maybe for Cortana [I go with just the icon] and Task View.

Wynona, it sometimes takes a bit time before Start is correctly populated. It is totally normal to see up to half dozen empty tiles with an up arrow after a clean install. Let them stay there, couple of reboots later Start is populated and correct tiles shown.

No tiles at all here, ever. You can just remove them so the start menu resembles W7.

Cortana's big slab is reduced to a normal icon on the taskbar here too.

So far no big issues with the latest IP.

Almost all of the personalisations were carried over just fine. Even got the.ESD.

Raw OS about 12 to 13 Gb with 16 Gb of RAM and hibernation disabled.

IMHO, the cleaner the OS is to upgrade the better it works. So far I've never experienced any problem with IPs except for the general known issues

I always keep a close eye on Event Viewer, I come from a server world, and keep all disks as clean from trash as possible.

    Cheers,

    .

Right click on the tile and choose "unpin from . . . " forgot the last word". I have to do that with every new Build installed.

This would be good info, Kari, if I wanted the tiles in the first place. But, since I already have Quick Launch on the Taskbar, those things are just there to make things ugly. :)

I just wish there was a way to delete them all at once.

I haven't had a problem with tiles being blank or with arrows. I had a problem with 'maps' app but it finally activated again. I have had many problems with Sticky Notes problem but it seems to have straightened out, too. No, I lied. Sticky Notes continues to open for two seconds and close. Seems to be intermittent.
