So'right, I believe you, just never did it myself, old school, you know.
Just to confirm, my hotmail.com user name has 2 capital letters in it, don't seem to miss any messages including junk. As for "old school" I set it that way some 15 years ago, didn't know any better at the time, hopefully have learned a lot since.

The 5 character user profile abbreviation is written in Windows with a lower or upper case letter depending on how you have typed it when creating your email account. When creating a new Microsoft email address (outlook.com, hotmail.com) john.doe@AnEmailService.com, profile name would be in Windows johnd with lower case initials j & d.
Creating the same email as John.Doe@AnEmailService.com, the profile would be named as JohnD.

FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME part of Microsoft email addresses is not case sensitive, both john.doe and John.Doe can be used when creating a new email address. People can send you mail using*John.Doe@ john.doe@.
you're right, i did notice this in a couple email services that if i login from my mobile for instance the first letter is always capital so my profile email in that certain service appears the same way i logged in with unlike logging in from a laptop which sometimes i don't capitalize the first letter, tho i can't remember for when i made my microsoft account whether or not i wrote my name in all small letters, took me a while to make a unique name for all email services with the same name to avoid forgetting and confusing one email with another so i guess too late to give up the name and start over now..
guess i'll just have to stick to making a local user everytime i clean install a new build and avoid logging in with microsoft account during setup

thank you for your help Kari

Did I miss something in release notes? Trying to see notifications only shows a transparent placeholder for Action Center:

Mine too. It worked at first but no more. I thought it was something because of new GPU drivers. On the icon there's number of notifications but it disappears when I click on it.

Been very irritating since I first reported it way back when in this thread. I have yet to find an answer but since my first posting, I have noticed it as of the last few days becoming more sporadic.

Will work for a day or so then back to transparent. Signing out and back is only way have found to clear it each time.

Just the opposite for me. At first Action center was unresponsive. On more occasions just like you describe. After few days it works almost perfect (problem with releasing focus to app related to notification).

This is upgrade machine (from 14986 to all build in between). Cleaned it with CCleaner.

Kari and others, go to Feedback Hub and search "Action Center 15014" and you will see lots of complaints about this. While there , please upvote all you see.
