You are talking to the world, what the heck is MLKDay? Does it have something to do with milk? Okay, I found out but I had to click on it to find out MLK is short for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Life would be so much easier without acronyms.
Ummm, I believe Brink relayed a tweet from Dona; he didn't deserve your ire.

Well so far the 15xxx series is a non starter for me, with the 0% update bug and after being able to install it I'm faced with a cold boot freeze, going through my start up files now in order to see what may be hanging it up but it's not looking good sfc /scannow is clean and all av was shut down, running through hardware startup drivers now but am close to rolling back.
When you cold boot, Helidoc, does the boot hang, you have to do a hard shutdown, and then the second cold boot works?

If that's what you have, so do I.

    Hey all,

Seems have developed a new problem. Full clean install from 15002 then upgrade through WU to 15007. Things went pretty good doing it that way over all. Only issue is the hack failed to create an esd for 15007. Keeps disappearing in one of the lines.*
Gave up trying to get it to work. For two days all was great but now I no longer can click on settings button in Edge. It freezes the second*I click it and have to close the browser to get access back to any part of browser. Not sure why as it worked fine for a few days and this happened.
Any ideas on a fix I am not seeing? Been all over looking for a way to reset or clear error to no avail.
I keep hoping for an iso release to do a repair in place as last resort.
    Thanks for any ideas
Did you follow Kari's tutorial, Dragon? If not, it's located here:

UUP to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 Build Upgrade Files

Along with the tutorial, he's also made video instructions. I'm waiting until the next Build drops before I try it. :) I don't know much about how it works yet, but I think the jumping off place is before you RESTART.

Exactly. This extract from beginning of tutorial:

    warning   Warning
Notice please: When Windows Update has finished downloading the UUP upgrade, the files needed to make the ISO are stored in subfolders of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads.

These files will be removed when upgrade is done. If you want to make an ISO for future needs, you have to do it before starting the upgrade process itself, after downloading the upgrade files but before clicking Restart now button!

Two GSODs tonight, both a second after I've launched my video editing software. Don't want to fight tonight, tomorrow will see first a repair install, thereafter I will add a new "max resources" video editing boot entry, booting to that and disabling everything except core system needed for editing.

That has worked before, can't see why it wouldn't work now. Editing videos with this machine is like putting a gallon of water in a one gallon bucket then carrying it a few miles without losing a drop of water. Doable but you have to be extremely careful and concentrated.

As I’ve always done, right click create shortcut on internet explorer and then open them with Firefox
Just tries your way with the little icon on Firefox and I still get the same error message
And yet if I drag the icon on to the address bar, no problems

Well, I have been forced to dump Edge, I have moved my favourites/bookmarks to Firefox.
Maybe the next build will allow me to return to Edge.

The file extension .url is defaulted to what MS refers to as "Internet Browser", which MS defaults to Edge. Setting all defaults for FF or Chrome or any other browser will not work. You must go into file associations thru Control Panel (not Settings) and explicitly set it the the .exe file of the browser you want. You will need to browse Program Files or Program Files (x86) and find the .exe. I have mine set to FireFox.

    Hi Wynona and Kari.

Believe me I read and re read the tutorial and even tried three times to get a working set of files to create. (I am a glutton for punishment I guess) I just am not doing something right. I'll figure it out hopefully on next upgrade.

My main issue though is the freezing of the settings button in Edge whenever I go to access them. Freezes the browser also once I click it and have to close it and start over. No matter what though the settings are not available to me with this problem even though they were for the first two days after the install.

I am at a loss on this. thus was why I brought up the iso as a repair in place has always been a good fall back for me :)

    Thanks for replying

That's pretty much where I'm at with it Wynona. Still can't figure it out, second cold boot (hard reset with power button) gets it past the login and it's smooth sailing from there. Go figure...
