Kari and f14tomcat---Did you see my earlier post today about UUP?

    C.B.
Yes, I saw your post, I just don't know what to answer.

Those two registry files from f14tomcat are completely normal, doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Looking for them, they are written and formatted exactly as a registry edit file should be, with no syntax errors:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Orchestrator]
    "EnableUUPScan"=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate]
    "SupportsUUP"=dword:00000000
(This is the UUP Off script provided.)

A great amount of tutorials at Ten Forums is using / offering the same kind of registry edit files. All of them (at least those I've downloaded from Brink's tutorials and this by f14tomcat) work for me.

Sitting here trying to even get 15007 to show up as a download, nothing. Have UUP off. I skipped 15002 and am still running 14986.1001. I don't think that has any thing to do with a non notification. As a side question have these "GLOB" files hanging in my C: not sure where they came from. Tx...
Gave up for the night, first thing this morning, 15007 was there on the first check and it installed without issue in about ~30 minutes. :-) Been working with it for couple of hours, seems pretty speedy, no issues so far. The "GLOB" files were taken care of by the new install.

Just repeating a post I made over in the 15002 thread. Virtualbox would not install or upgrade either 15002 or 15007 (using the 32-bit version) with Virtualbox's default settings in place, but I found a setting change which seemed to help in my case.

I had slightly different problems with VirtualBox, when trying to run the 32-bit version.

Just in case it helps someone, here's my experience and how I fixed it.

Anything with build 15002 or 15007 would either
    1. get stuck on the Restart (if I'd let Windows Update attempt the upgrade) or
    2. would not even boot at all (in the case of booting from the ISO).

In both cases, it would get stuck on the 'blue Windows Flag' screen, where you'd expect circling dots to appear below the flag - but nothing would appear and it just hung there.

The fix for me in VirtualBox seemed to be in the System settings. This is how it looked when it was broken, which I think was the default settings which VB had created for Windows 10.

    Attachment 117120

Then I went into the 'Acceleration' tab within System settings, and changed the Paravirtualization setting to 'Legacy'. After I made the change, it looked like this:

It depends on if you installed in one language, then use language packs, and didn't finish "cleaning up" after changing the used language. @Kari posted how to do it using sysprep, and it worked for me.
Andre if you are interested, take a look here: Windows language not completely changed
you can(and should) create a user account, that uses the original install media language, for when/if you want to do a Repair Install.
I'll let the Geek Meister explain it better.

I installed US English version, yet a lot of stuff is in Serbian. I have problem with that as most stuff I learned about computers is in English and whatever is translated is atrocious.
All of that reminds me of Hollywood movies, all Serbians in them speak in Russian.
My clock in BIOS must be perfect, it's in perfect sync with GPS time and those are some of most accurate clocks.
Thanks Cliff for pointing out that post, I'm remembering it well. @Kari explained it perfectly in his post (which is kinda too long to quote again). I have date and time format in Slovene rather than US /UK. It is funny sometime to see Slovenglish output, but didn't find perfect solution yet. I bookmarked that Kari's post, don't worry

I thought this might benefit some of the users, therefore quoting a recent post from TF Video thread:

New video: UUP to ISO - Create an ISO image from Windows 10 UUP upgrade files

Tutorial: UUP to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 Build Upgrade Files

    Quote from tutorial:

    information   Information
Since beginning of Windows Insider program we geeks have had a possibility to convert the ESD file of new upgrade build to an ISO image (tutorial). With it we could create DVD / USB install media to be used in clean, in-place and repair installs.

Since Windows 10 Insider Build 14986 Microsoft has started to use new Unified Update Platform (UUP), which no longer offers the install.esd file (read more in this post). Through some registry modifications users can at least for now disable UUP and get ESD version of the build upgrade, but it seems that this option might not be available in the future.

UUP is of course a positive change. It is differential, scanning user's existing Windows 10 installation only downloading and installing those system files that have changed. In ESD upgrade full Windows system (all system files and native applications) were replaced, with the same file or app version even in case the new build did not include a newer updated version. Regardless if a system file, component or application was updated, ESD upgrade replaced it. This caused download size to be bigger, in addition to longer time required for upgrade because full Windows was downloaded and everything overwritten with every upgrade.

However, the possibility to create an ISO image is, has been and will be important to many users. Microsoft has usually released an ISO when a build has been released to Insider Slow Ring, but we Fast Ring users do need an option to create our own install media.

This tutorial will show how to do that, how to create an ISO image out of a UUP upgraded Windows 10.
All questions and issues about this procedure in tutorial thread, thank you.

I discovered one issue with 15002. Somehow it set itself to slow ring and does not give me an option to switch to fast ring (greyed out). My quick solution to get 15007 was to restore back to 14986 and I immediately got the update. It was flawless like 15002.

Going disgustingly well, here, as usual, apart from Edge hanging when clicking Settings. But don't use Edge so no problemo!

Weird how some setups just work and others have strange problems. No VM's, dual boots, clean installs etc, here, just plain old update to previous installation.

No special incantations, either, but may need a couple after statements above!

What build of VirtualBox are you usinig? Since you are an Insider I assume you like to test some of the newer stuff so you might want to checkout VirtualBox test builds. Testbuilds – Oracle VM VirtualBox

I had the exact same experience in a VM. Exactly. Restored back a Macrium 14986 from day before 15002, and it went right to 15007! Strange gremlins out there......
