Those asterisks are still plaguing Edge, this is my second attempt at this post, the webpage was lost back to the desktop.

It appears to do no harm. Very briefly right after update, it was not there. Then came back and will not go away. GPEDIT tricks don't work anymore. Because this is a test program, MS does not want telemetry data being withheld. The message probably could be worded differently to avoid confusion. Hardly likely too many "organizations" are running their day-to-day on a Beta system! Not a fixing answer, I know, but try to just ignore it. Maybe Dona and her crew will get enough complaints they put a little patch in. Maybe......
A sensible explanation as opposed to ridiculous scare stories about spying intrusions.
Obviously with this Beta need to obtain the most feedback possible, they have enough problems as it is trying to sort out various bugs.

Same here. Maybe they want to put an end to a rumour that MS Edge is good just to download FF or Chrome...:)

Not having much joy with this. 15002 keeps screwing with something. I have a spinning blue circle of "no use" every time I go near the taskbar. no start menu, no cortana the clock eventually stops.
I have very little 3rd party stuff installed, I'm running windows defender (I have a norton subscription but I made a clean 14965 build/image without norton) upgraded that to 14986, and then updated to 15002.

If its not to do with my AV then whats screwing it up ? I can do the upgrade from 14986 and it works fine for a couple of boots and then goes meh on me. The various Powershell/CMD clean up scripts are of no use.

    Any Ideas?

I have a question for you guys. I went back to 14986 and everything is working again but update and restore wants to install 15002 again. How do I stop Windows update from installed 15002 again? Should I switch from FAST to SLOW updates? I don't want to turn off the previews.

Yes. Going from fast to slow should fix your problem.

    Hello,
I came here and learned about the latest Preview Build, and I went to install it. But it seems my Insider Program settings have changed, and I don't know how, why, or how to reset them. Here's what I'm looking at. Has anyone seen this before, and is there a procedure to let me take back control of my Insider Preview settings?
    Welcome to TenForums, Ira.

Have you clicked on the "Fix Me" button yet? That's the first thing to do, but it never has worked for me. If "Fix Me" doesn't work, you could try this next:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...0-a.html?ltr=I

If that doesn't work, then a clean install may be in order. You can find Build 14986 here; don't worry about the "Access Denied" link, for whatever the reason, the link is named that:

    Access Denied

Once Build 14986 is downloaded, create a bootable flash drive with these instructions:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...0-a.html?ltr=U

    Hope this helps.
