Yes, correct. This from beginning of the tutorial:

    warning   Warning
Notice please: When Windows Update has finished downloading the UUP upgrade, the files needed to make the ISO are stored in subfolders of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads.

These files will be removed when upgrade is done. If you want to make an ISO for future needs, you have to do it before starting the upgrade process itself, after downloading the upgrade files but before clicking Restart now button!
    Ah yes, RTFT. :)

EDIT. Using Windows.old it made the ISO, I'm burning it to DVD now.

I never read manuals until I learn how to us it by using the hands on approach. I also never ask for directions when I'm lost. Drives the wife crazy. :)

Did a clean install, had problems galore.
Sound like your W10 is working exactly the way MS planned.

Well it looks like I've got it working in VirtualBox. Removing all trace of 3D acceleration seems to have done the trick. Still stuck on 1024x768 but at least it's progress. Now to do an image. Hope MR is OK.
I had 3D graphics issues with VMware Player.

Interesting! One stubborn VM would not get the upgrade downloaded, giving an error and Retry button. Have clicked that button certainly 30 times today, for nothing. It has been like this since yesterday evening.

Decided to test a theory: copied Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder from another VM, all 3 GB of it, replacing everything in same folder on this stubborn VM. Back to Settings > Windows Update, click Retry once more and now the upgrade was downloaded in minutes, VM now awaiting restart to perform the upgrade :)
