Thank you, Brink :)
Would you be so kind to tell me from where can you distinguish this, and if it is a Fast or a Slow Insider ring?
I just Googled the version number, and it came back as an Insider version.
I'm not an Insider to know for sure, but you should be able to click on File > Account, and see if you have an Office Insider tile available.
Office Insider details and FAQs
Joanne, I'm pretty sure I'm on the Insider Slow Ring. I just saw your post and checked for updates. I was on 7668.2048, but it's updating. :) So, I'm pretty sure I'll be there with you in a few.
My Office 365 Pro Plus is courtesy of an MVP who has so many comp Office subscriptions that she was able to share with me.
Whoops, I have to shut down Outlook so I'd best run . . .
Thank you, Wynona, I hope your update went well :)
When, and if, you'll find some time, please post the version (build) number you got updated to.
In my Office 2016 Professional Plus 32 bit installation, I do not see anything called "Insider", neither something about "Fast" or "Slow" rings. This is why I have no clue. You can see a screenshot of how my expanded account screen looks like, in Outlook, in post #15 of this thread.
Perhaps I do not see that I am an Insider (?) because I have never logged in with my MS account? Dunno...
A few months ago I was using the 64 bit version of Office. Back then I recall seeing this "Insider" label in my account tab. Now, with the 32 bit, and especially after installing the Proofing Tools for my native language, I do not see anything. I am just getting updates.
There is absolutely no problem with my Office 2016, everything functions perfectly, always. I mean, it's not that I'm trying to resolve some issue :)
I'm just leaving all this information here. :)
That's interesting. If you ahve not logged into your Microsoft account for office, then it should not be pulling Insider builds down - after all, it needs to verify you are supposed to get Office Insdier Preview builds via your account.
Perhaps it is remembering your previous installation of 64bit office that 8was* an insider build....and thus continuing to download current insider builds for you.
As per normal, everything went as expected; nothing jumped up and bit me in the . . . :)
I'm up to 7668.2064.
I know that I saw it somewhere, but I've been all over "Manage Account" and didn't find anything showing that I'm an Insider either, or if I'm on the fast or slow ring; however, I know I signed up for it. I've been "previewing" Office 365 since August 2014; at that time it was required that we own a subscription before we could test, so I bought my first Pro Plus subscription from Amazon.com for $63.xx.
I gather you're not on the Windows 10 Insider Program? Since you don't log in with a MS account. I don't think though, that the Office Insider and Windows Insider Programs are "tied" together; mainly because you haven't logged in with a MS account. You seem to get your updates without that. :)
Although I started out with Pro Plus, it seems that I'm on Enterprise E3. Wow! The things we learn when someone asks a simple question.
Back when they closed most of Office 365 tests down on Yammer (I don't have a clue about what that was all about), they created new sites for those of us testing, but I could never get up to speed on those, so I no longer participated. They also "advertised" for people to sign up as Insiders. I suspect that somehow, that's what you did. I can tell ya, it wasn't easily done for those of us with a version higher than Home! For quite some time, with every new Build of Windows 10, I had to go into the Registry and change a particular line before my Insider status would be "honored" with new Builds.
Well, I'm either blind as a bat, I can't read, Microsoft is playing tricks on me or I'm just plain not paying attention, Joanne!
Note that it says ProPlus underneath Subscription Product. Under Manage Account, it shows Enterprise E3. I was told by the MVP who gave me the subscription that they're the same, but Enterprise E3 sure does impress me more. :)
