I think it's still unknown if Universal File Explorer is going to become a reality for Desktop PC's, but there's one observation I tested:
It seems that if you attempt to open a file in UFE, there needs to be an App installed that will handle that protocol and set as default, with the exception of audio files.
Audio files will still open in WMP from UFE, if set as default.

Thanks Brink, looks good so far, hope we don't have to wait too long for an insider release showing some of these changes.
It is safe to install it , above the latest version 14986 (insider) ????
