Cumulative Update KB3206309 Windows 10 Version Next Build 14986.1001 Insider

Well I clicked on the defer feature updates as a test and it still went ahead.

It seems it still installs security updates automatically. Also. not 100% sure because I did not tick defer box until after downloads were ready to install, if that was too late ie do you have to click box to stop download of future updates,

Updated to Build 14986.1001 in less then 10 minutes. It did require a reboot but I saw no issues. Very incident free CU.

Installed on both test machines with no hitches, glitches, or gotchas (say that fast, three times!). First time with a completely issue-free WU for some time. Hope this is a harbinger for a better year for updates in 2017. Happy holidays everyone!

Install goes okay, but startup the following day hangs while Defender is loading. Everything stops & can't do anything. Take 2 or 3 "pull plug" cold boot starts to get going. Uninstall update, no problems, until update is reinstalled, then problem reoccurs.

This update adds new features to Defender, in addition to a Control Panel item, it also an App.

Update:

#WindowsInsiders no builds today (Tues) or tomorrow (Wed).
