The solutions I have seen are:-

Restart comp. If this doesn't work, try these:-

Click on the four squares bottom left corner. Type cmd then the enter key. This will bring up a black window.

Now type these commands followed by the enter key.

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ipv4

    ipconfig /renew

Then restart the comp and cross your fingers!!

i posted about this months ago... the replies said I was crazy, but it happened on MANY updates. It also affected other processes, but I didn't try to investigate which ones... I just knew that when programs stopped running properly, I'd check the internet, which was not functional, and then would check for a win update, and voila, the update and restart got things running normally.

I'm having probs STILL with Chrome and DNS errors and internet issues... tried the netsock thing, using google as the default DNS search, all the normal link actions to fix those DNS and internet error message, but they are still there. I am now ordering a new modem, which is a 16 x 4 instead of an 8 x4, and trying Firefox instead of Chrome as my default browser. I was having to restart my DNS Service every few minutes, which was the only thing that would USUALLY solve the errors.

Ccleaner would no longer work for me, I got one of those slideout pop ups from Windows, "This App will not work with this version of windows"

I`m sure an update will fix it.

    No issues with Chrome though.

    Hi there
I find the SOLUTION rather amusing

    1) Fix knocks out Internet connection.

    2) Update computer with new fix -- well Ms just say you only have I computer --well how are you meant to apply update without working Internet !!!!!

Reminds me of a contract job I was doing with SHELL -- if your PC had problems -- e.g wouldn't boot / lost network etc - the standing orders were to SEND AN EMAIL to the Help(less) desk -- again no network / computer working how were you meant to do that. !!!!!

I didn't have the problem with the current update - but not everybody has access to other computers.

This also makes it even more essential to take REGULAR BACKUPS - so in this case a restore would have got you re-connected to the Internet where you could take remedial action to fix problem.

    Cheers

Seconded. Regular system images via Macrium or similar, and actually TEST that an actual RESTORE actually works...

I keep rolling back until before this installs
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3206632).
BECAUSE the mofu blocks my access to my ISP, i could not understand why my IC was soooo slow so i wanted to run a IC Test from my ISP website "LATENCY ERROR" FIREWALL BLOCKING and a lot of other crap, when i rolled back my Windows using Rollback RX just before the mofu, no problems at all.
So i am still waiting for M$ to release an update to fix the update that should fix the update M$ released, if i am missing an update to fix the update feel free to add it. aint paying for a 500/500 MB Fiber IC and then only being able to get 49/49mb thx M$

Well i got shut off from my ISP after, the update was installed, and i am pretty sure this is the "problem" child
MS16-154: Security update for Adobe Flash Player: December 13, 2016

but since MS just keeps sending you i circles
when i try to find some info, i can't say for sure tried IE Edge FF , and finally Chrome would run the IC Test and i believe Chrome does not use Flash, or i turned it of in Chrome what ever. as i said it looks like the flash update is the problem, why i still use flash? i thought most browsers use html5 now? and since Adobe is ditching flash for mobile devices, well the end must be near for flash as we know it :)
