The Restart process is taking much longer now.
Two machines, one Home x64, the other Pro x86. Both updated successfully. Not the fastest update, nor the slowest. Significantly faster than the last one though.:)
Both paused downloading for some time at 90%. Task Manager's Performance tab showed that the download paused after a significant continuous download, with the disk activity then rising to 100% for the period of the pause, presumably processing the data just downloaded. Disk activity then dropped and the download resumed. Total data downloaded for x64 was around 300MB according to Task Manager's 'View network details' (slightly less for the x86).
Disk Clean Up again shows 3.99TB for 'Windows Update Clean-up' on the x64 PC, while the x86 finds 'only' 1.89GB. @EdTittel's blog goes into more detail on this apparently impossible 3.99TB.
Disk Clean Up is currently cleaning up both machines (and has been for the last 10 minutes).
Edit: 20 minutes to clean the x86, the x64 took over 35 minutes.

Both my machines showed the 3TB cleanup too. One hung at 95%. It failed the previous yesterday 3 times. The stand alone msu cleared the cache. Then it went in. Turned off the McAfee too. Not pretty. But back online. Both systems were hosed all afternoon. Thanks again Microsoft.
After suffering through a couple of 95% hangups I download the update file using the link in Post #1.
Still takes a while to install, but it was a success!
Dell XPS-8500 Desktop w/ 64 Pro - This was the normal 30-45 minute round trip, however when I clicked the 'Restart Now' button I did get this weird 'explorer.exe' memory error* pop up window in the middle of the 'Restarting' circus of dots. After the reboot I did a memory check which showed no problems, and all the updates were successful. Subsequent restarts have been fine.
* I did notice with my desktop 'Rainmeter' CPU histogram that something was thrashing on all 4 processors just before the restart, so perhaps the OS prematurely caught itself in the middle of some explorer process that didn't end gracefully enough.
Dell Inspiron 15 i5559 Laptop w/ 64 Home - This one hung at the infamous 95% download point, a first for me, at which point after an hour an half I, like others, restarted, and within 15 minutes it moved on to install, then it's normal restart sequence. All updates thankfully were successful, which compared to others I see, is all that really matters these days, and for all I know it would have done this anyway had I left it alone.
*Sigh* i feel like the past 3 months of updates for me they have all failed to download and install all on their own.
its been stuck at 46% for hours now
The update completed successfully. Did take a little while to download and install though
