I broke down and rebooted. The update reran and completed. It is now Preparing to install updates...71%. Hope this one works.

Edit: All of my Office 2010 and Adobe Flash Updates completed and even though it said it was it was done, the CU failed. I ended up downloading the 64bit update (Thanks for the location, Bing) and then doing a remote install which worked. Shouldn't be this hard.

First time I've had a problem with a CU.
After the update and the restart everything was running ok but I decided to shut the PC down then start it up to see if the boot time had changed at all. I couldn't tell as I was greeted by the message "operating system not found." Paid a visit to the BIOS settings and saw that my SSD was missing from the boot sequence and it was trying to boot from my RAID 0 array which I've just got games installed on.
I found the SSD lurking in a section called BEV, changed the settings to boot from the SSD and all was back to normal. Looking at my PC I realised I'd left a USB key in a front port when I updated Windows so can only assume it was that which caused the problem.
Would that be a correct assumption anyone ?
I think that's a wise decision. The 'progress' indicators don't always track what's really going on. In fact, this seems to be true across the board for installation of stuff, no matter the software, OS, or what have you. I have had so many installations stuck on some random percentage, and then, done! Or run right up to 100%, then stay there for half an hour. Whatever, I try not to pay attention, and just go about my business
Looks correct. I used to have problems with booting up after restoring a disk image created with Macrium Reflect with my external USB drive still connected, thinking the problem was with Windows or Macrium Reflect. I disconnected the drive, rebooted successfully. Happened to me several times in the past.
Updated reasonably fast on my main rig, prob 15 mins start to finish. Our weak celeron powered BRIX machine started over an hour ago and it's been stuck on getting windows ready for about 45 mins now! It is always very slow but I think tonight breaks the record!
Good Grief ,.... From start to finish 55 minutes to install CU --KB 3206632. But so far all is well,....

The update is downloading now on my 2010 HP Pavilion desktop. Have never had any problems with downloading/installing Win-10 updates in a timely manner over the past 16 months.
That being said, when is EDGE going to grow up and leave adolescence behind? It never gets new features to make Printing and Navigating more flexible, and useful.
These updates keep saying "nothing new this time". The word "Update" is a misnomer in a lot of ways, when it comes to Windows10. The word "Patch" was more descriptive, don't cha think?
doh! After all that I come back to look at the pc and it's on the login screen, thinking it's over at long last I login and a notification pops up to say update failed to install! The security update and flash went in fine but this cumulative one failed. Start again, check for updates and it finds the cumulative update but it's now stuck on downloading 0% for last ten minutes.
EDIT It got to preparing to install updates 10% and stayed for ages before reporting failure, a cryptic numerical code and please try again later. Have rebooted and tried again. But after quickly jumping to 10% again it seems stuck there once more. A frustrating evening long battle and one I don't feel I am going to win!
