I'm still not getting any updates at all. I have to manually update Defender.
This is with an older version and with two clean installs of 14965. It acts like it is checking for updates but never finds anything - other system updates, Defender updates, etc.

I am set for fast insider updates.
@fireberd Maybe this might help. Worth a try.... Windows Update - Reset in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Tutorials

That is exactly what I was getting when I made my post:

WTF? Edge won't load Google, but loads Bing and Yahoo just fine.

Every other browser loads Google without a problem.
It eventually went away for me.

My virtual machines updated to 14986 are stuck in Slow Ring with no way to change to Fast. My physical machine is probably not but I have to boot into Windows to make certain. The VM here is even activated. What's this about?
Odd. I'm updating a third VM now, with UUP enabled, but the other two, with UUP disabled, both are still FAST ring and I can change it, it is not grayed out.

I agree. I still go to control panel more often than settings.
I'm trying to teach my "resistant to change" self to look in Settings before going to the Control Panel. :) I'm afraid that one of these days, CP will disappear and I'll be up the proverbial creek without a paddle!

Having said that, I vote for the Control Panel to expand to hold Settings in addition to what it already held! Best of all worlds, IMNSHO.

I've had a full day of doing various scenarios and taking screenshots, now drinking a late lunch, starting to write the tut text in Word. Give me two three hours :)
Oh, goody! It should be ready by now.

    Hi,

I noticed that when you tried to open things that were normally opened in Control Panel they opened the Windows 10 Settings page instead. Some of those seek to have reverted to opening in Control Panel again, which makes me wonder if CP is actually sticking around, for this and the above mentioned reasons....
WIN+R > control et voila Control Panel in all its glory. :)

    Cheers,

Totally agree, I also like having multiple path even to same thing, specially when settings are concerned, I have Control Panel on desktop and right click menu on start as well as God Mode. I use what ever is at least 1 click closer.

Did you check to be sure your computer's cooperating? Both of my systems were set on the Fast Ring, but when this Build came down, I was told my system was up to date. I went in and looked, and both had been changed to the Slow Ring. I don't have a clue why that happened, but it did. Others have seen it too; it's not just me.
