    You are welcome guys.

My posting has lately mirrored my bad mood and bad both mental and physical health situation. I'm just trying to compensate it a bit , trying to learn not to insult fellow geeks every time I have a bad day...

Ditto. And thanks for the hack! I was a day late, but posted the link for the hack you gave in my own (late) thread (as solved).

I posted this just now in ESD to ISO tutorial thread, thought it important to post here, too:

I just made a test to see what's the difference in download size, ESD vs. UUP, upgrade from 14971 to 14986. I have to say the difference is quite clear.

$WINDOWS.~BT folder using UUP upgrade method, current build 14971 has downloaded build 14986 upgrade:

$WINDOWS.~BT folder using ESD upgrade method, current build 14971 has downloaded build 14986 upgrade:

Notice that although the ESD method downloaded almost double the amount of data than the UUP method, it only contains a couple of more files and folders. This can be explained with the install.esd file: this one file alone, missing in UUP upgrade, is 3,105,841 KB (EN-GB PRO 14986 ESD).

I cannot for sure explain why the difference in Size on disk is so small. I do believe this is because of default allocation unit size; the UUP download contains mostly small files which do leave a lot of allocation units half empty requiring unused space, whereas the ESD method basically differs from UUP download only by the install.esd file which only leaves one unit only partly filled.

In the future the UUP upgrade will take even less space, I'm sure about that, as more and more of Windows components will find a more permanent form and app / library / system file updates are not required so often.

The above screenshots are from same physical Windows 10 PRO build 14971 machine. After downloading the UUP upgrade I removed the $WINDOWS.~BT folder, edited the registry to disable UUP, restarted, and downloaded the upgrade again, this time an ESD upgrade.

I was just asked when will UUP be implemented in non insider versions. My guess is with Rs2, right ?
