    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Orchestrator]

    Should value data be set as "1" or "0"?

    Just finished installing in a VM, was about to make another VM with dual drives to use your \User tree moving tutorial. If you need help testing the theory, let me know :)
    I thought first it's not good to just outline the idea without testing it first, but OK here we go. I am in such bad shape today that I leave testing for tomorrow.

    First, this includes more work than just an ESD to ISO conversion, but it should give you build 14986 ISO (and in the future an ISO for each new build).

    Theoretical steps, I repeat that I have not tested this yet but as I really want to have an ISO, I will test it:

    • On a technician PC (in my case a Hyper-V virtual machine), clean install Windows 10 (any previous build)
    • Opt in to Fast ring and let WU download 14986 upgrade, alternatively copy the entire $WINDOWS.~BT folder from another machine to technician machine (remembering that bit version, language and edition must match!)
    • Upgrade, either by clicking Restart now in WU if upgrade was downloaded, or running the setup.exe from $WINDOWS.~BT folder if instead of downloading the upgrade you copied it from another machine
    • Capture image (Windows ADK / ICD) to an install.wim file
    • Use ADK's Deployment and Imaging tools to create a WinPE (will be used as boot.wim)
    • Use ADK's Deployment and Imaging tools to write boot.wim and install.wim

    Sounds complicated, is simple, just a bit more work and time required than what we are used to with ESD files.

    As I said, this is at the moment just a theory.

    Two values changed to "0" (EnableUUPScan & FlightPendingCommit) as per attached image. I am not able to start downloading build 14986.
    Any suggestions.

    Crap. copied wrong post, that's to re-enable UUP.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate]
    "SupportsUUP"=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Orchestrator]
    "EnableUUPScan"=dword:00000000

    downloaded and running took 2.5 hrs
    first thing i noticed the sign in was still on pin which didn't happen on other updates when you had to choose which one.
    as normal have to reinstall the newer synaptic touchpad driver.
    had a bit trouble with edge and outlook clicking on email it would open and then shut down closed edge and tried again and seams to be working.
    no other problems so far
