Yea it was written by abbodi1406 who is the one that did the esd to ISO decrypter. Dude is sharp.

I also just read that someone had downloaded using the UUP but didn't install. Instead he deleted the download, used the reg edit and started downloading again and it came in as a .esd so if someone is at that point they won't have to rollback and start again.

This way is good in the fact that downloads can be stopped and later resumed, but We'll capturer the .esd download links and share with others that either can't get the upgrade started or want to do a fresh install right off the bat. Guess M$ might not like that and it's another reason for the change ?
I tried something similar and it popped up an error - I didn't let the DL complete, but rebooted the VM and then changed the reg keys.

This time I changed the keys right after install.

re: build 149886 - has anyone been using the feature to 'Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to login' on their machine? I had both laptop and desktop set that way, but after installing 149896, it reverted, and the option is now grayed out in netplwiz...

Started a new VM, still cannot get it activated. Which means I cannot add a PIN (personalization limited by activation). Boo!

Anyhoo, got the reg keys entered in before I did anything else. The second one was not even there, so I created it myself....

However, after my laptop finally came back up, I got another prompt about how satisfied I was with the updating process. This time, I captured the text I entered (along the same lines as the first time, maybe a little bit nicer, though...)

Granted, it's only temporary, as we should have a reliable way to make the .ISO again soon, but still....
Good for you, John! I didn't think about having to reinstall AU, although I'd only have to go back to 14971. when I scorched 'em. :)

    Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Nope - no need to go back to AU for me. I installed 4971. Then, when it complained about activation, I changed the key - to one of my unused TechNet Win7 keys.

    VM is now activated

Never mind. I think I know what it is.

I have Mouse without borders installed to share KB and mouse with my laptop. I bet that is what is causing this to occur.

This build seems to be running great on my desktop. Weird issue on my Surface Pro 2, though. I hit the power button to turn it on and get an immediate blue screen (page fault in nonpaged area), then the tablet reboots and boots up correctly. Doesn't actually seem to be a major issue, just kind of a curiosity.

I Think this will be fixed in the next MBAE beta release. I only use Edge when I'm on my Insider build. I still prefer Pale Moon\Firefox although I'm starting to like Chrome.

It may not be fixed in MBAE itself.

MB just published their new Lifecycle guidelines, and they have all current products being at End of maintenance today, and marked as End of Life as of 6 months from today. Although users of the current gen 2.x products are not being automagically upgraded yet, they plan on doing so shortly, and thus, you cannot download the regular MBAM/MBAE/MBARW products from MB anymore. Only the MB 3.0 which mixes all three of those in together. Which, oh, also went live today.

I'm pretty ticked off that they are trying to do this during the holiday season of all times, and have voiced my opinion about it (loudly, I might add), but there it is.

Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Support - Home Products Lifecyle Policy

If you were a βeta tester and / or know where to find the βeta builds, or you have your own copy of the installer still handy, then you are OK. Otherwise, you're on a new journey with 3.0.

FWIW, 3.0 is actually an incredible product, but it simply isn't ready for prime-time consumption yet. Removing the existing products from DL area is a big mistake IMO, as well. But, oh well.

    EDIT: Added the following:

It should be known that I am a MB Expert User (MB Forum 'badge' of sorts), having been a βeta tester back in the 0.69 version days, through 1.7x, then again with the 2.x βeta versions, and finally, for a small brief while, the 3.0.x βeta versions. As such, I do occasionally have access to private information, but the above is not private, they have just made it public, so I can say something now.

I decided to uninstall and delete everything to do with Malwarebytes. Then I downloaded and installed the new 3.04.1269 version of Malwarebytes. Then I started MBAM and entered my info. MBAM activated with my lifetime license. I then ran a scan on my computer and the scan completed without any crashes. Other than Edge still taking forever to start and/or load new tabs I haven't noticed any problems.
