Windows 10: You can now stream games from Xbox One to your PC

Microsoft has managed to grab plenty of headlines at the E3 gaming expo so far, with announcements including the ability to play Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One, a new 'hardcore' Elite controller, and a redesigned UI including Cortana for its newest console.

Earlier this year, the company revealed plans to introduce the ability to stream games from the Xbox One to a Windows 10 PC, and at E3, it announced that it is making this feature available immediately.

Only those on the Xbox One Preview program can take advantage of this feature for now, but Microsoft has posted a public FAQ page with details about what you can (and cannot) do with it.

One key point worth highlighting is that not all games will be streamable. Microsoft says:

Most Xbox One games will be able to stream. Some exceptions are Kinect titles and games requiring other special hardware not supported on the PC.

Unfortunately you have to be in the Xbox preview program and some of their preview tests in the past has wiped xbox's. I can wait a bit longer. Lol

    IMHO useless.
Good gaming PC performs better with games than any "new generation" console.

Not all of us want or need a full on gaming pc. I run everything off of my surface pro 3, except games. I really don't want another machine just for games.

You're not wrong in that a good gaming PC usually works better than an XB1/PS4. However, PC doesn't get all the games that the consoles do. Add in the fact that the Xbox One is getting backwards compatibility this year, and I'm pretty compelled to pick one up, just so that I can play/stream Red Dead Redemption and Rise of the Tomb Raider...both games that aren't/won't be available on PC.

Then why not play on your Xbox one setup whats the point to stream to PC?
IMO Xbox one and other consoles are oriented to more casual gaming. You can have it in your living room connected to large TV and play comfortably on couch.
Except for some exclusive uses, IMHO streaming to PC is useless for most people that play on console.

Wife watching reality TV shows, I'd rather be playing a game. That's my main reason . Now I can do both.
