They probably have 20 million dollars in a foreign bank account that they need a U.S. citizen to transfer for them.

The update kept getting stuck at 12%. I had recently installed AVG Free just to check it out. Once I removed AVG, the update sailed right through.

To change the topic a bit...

Since I encountered some problems with restarting PC, start menu reverting to multiple columns etc, I decided to make a clean install of latest build. Look like most of those (minor) problems have gone. Everything working fine and smooth :)

Those upgrades are getting better and better, but some minor problems are accumulated over time.
Yup, Andre, and that's why I do the occasional clean installation. No matter how hard we try, there's always something that can go awry.

I knew they were out there! I just knew it! Not that I'm going for Enterprise, but, if Microsoft can do that for businesses, I think I'd be safe in saying it can be done for everyone.

    Not that Microsoft will . . .

All my PCs are only upgraded, and I haven't had any problems
I am a very firm believer that clean installing is a wimps way out,
Real geek masters, troubleshoot, clean, try again, and as a last resort reimage and start over.
A clean install is only to fix partitioning(excess Recovery partitions) or to fix a nuked bootloader
May the GeForce be with you Geek Padawan!

Edit: I did reset this PC a while back, but strange freezing at reboot stayed until clean install. Should digged deeper into problem, but have no time to do it...

    - kinda seems like a cop-out, when you're testing a new product..
    - I'd rather contribute to improving Microsoft's model..

    - hopefully this will lead to some advances being made..
Mr. Bug, I guess you missed the part where I said I was unwilling to drop Paint 3D in favor of the old Paint because I wanted to keep testing it. So, no, I'm not copping out.

Just like Edge, I won't use it as my full time app, but will wait a couple or three Builds and try again. Works for me and saves my sanity.

I do draw the line at testing games that I will never use, though . . . copout? Maybe.

You're very lucky. History, however, proves this isn't the case in every situation. One misstep can cause havoc. Just ask a few of the denizens here.

I guess I'm a wimp, then , but I think I'm smart enough to know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em, as are others who have gone the clean install route, when nothing else would work.

So, maybe I'm not a "real geek master". There are times when troubleshooting isn't enough. Again, history proves this one out.

Yes, I hear what you're saying. Still, got anything to make me believe these are the only reasons for a clean install?
