I would add that before attempting to download the update, check that your update settings are set to "Notify to schedule restart".
Build 14931 must have reset my update settings.
When I downloaded b14946, it automatically installed itself whilst I was having my evening meal.
    Note:
I haven't had time to update to every IP build that has been released.
    I'm still on b14946.
    My bad.

MS, in their continuing quest to make W10 completely unmanageable, removed this option a few builds ago.

    Hi All,
Of course I'm a windows insider..currently on the 'slow ring ', I'm still stuck using build # 14931 . On this tablet I'm typing this post on..I have my insider build selection set to the 'slow' branch. I've checked several times already to try and receive the newer build # 14965 in the slow ring, but at least so far the update process still refuses to offer it to me. I'm using windows defender as my anti-virus solution..because I've read eleswhere that sometimes a third party anti-virus can cause problem's. Also, while I'm thinking about it, I have a laptop that has the same build of windows insider on it (#14931), so far it won't update properly either..with that laptop at least it tries download / install the newer version..but I always receive some kind of error message, and it never installs. Last night I downloaded a ISO image of the single language 32-bit version of build # 14965. I tried to 'mount' the iso image like I've done previously. It started to install the software properly..but after a short time I received a notice that the ' installation failed '. As I'm not the type person to give up easily, I thought I'd see if anyone else has ran into this issue.
    Thanks,
    David
WOW..I can't believe nobody else in here hasn't experienced a similar issue.

    First a warning:

    warning   Warning
As was with earlier build upgrades, it seems that an old not so nice feature has made a comeback: the install.esd file will be removed from C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources folder when upgrade is finished. The fact that this happens now with build 14965 might indicate it will also happen with future build upgrades.

To be able to make your own ISO for possible repair and re-installs, remember to copy it to a safe location (an external disk for instance) before starting the upgrade, before clicking Restart now!

The above being said, here's a onetime offer to those of you fellow geeks who forgot to copy the ESD file before upgrade and in doing so lost the opportunity to make an ISO image.

I've uploaded both British English and US English Windows 10 PRO Build 14965 x64 ISO images to OneDrive. If you don't find the ESD and need an ISO, you can download it from here: 14965 ISO on Kari's OneDrive

I am sorry but as I have no use for Windows 10 Home edition and 32 bit PRO, I have no Home ISO images nor do I have PRO 32 bit to offer. EN-GB & EN-US x64 PRO only!

It became available for download when it was released to slow ring. When the post you quoted was posted, it was not available as an ISO download from official Microsoft sources.

For me (on slow ring), it downloaded 14965 in the background, it's a slow machine so can tell when something is using a lot of bandwidth. I copied the esd files before it finished. There were actually 2 the same size, 1 named install.esd, the other was a long filename containing 14965 & the KB number. They were in different folders. ISO download from MS wasn't available from the Update Catalog until the next day.

The way they deliver esd's today could change tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me if different Insiders get them different ways.

Many versions never make it to ISO. There were versions between 14931 & 14965.

They only go to ISO if they are released to Slow Ring. And not all Slow Ring releases actually get an ISO released.
