Installed without a hitch on both, desktop and Lumia 640. Install.esd was there as per usual, I just forgot to see if it's same size as usual and I made iso out of it. As far as I can see there's no change to Sticky notes and it works fine, it even kept my old notes on it.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14965 for PC and Mobile-screenshot_20161110_035108.png

Time to relax in openSUSE land after backing up my Windows Server 2016. This puppy should be ready for testing tomorrow.

I know what Kari said, but I have never had to do the install.esd copy first--always after the install. This time I have downloads now and copied to safe folder.
This is nothing new, rather an old feature making a comeback. In quite a many earlier builds the install.esd file was removed when upgrade was done, long in to Insider builds after version 1511 was released.

It's of course up to every user to either just go forward with upgrade and then later on check if the ESD file is still there, or be sure and copy it before upgrade. I still remember the earlier builds and how it disappeared, therefore I wouldn't even dream about clicking Restart now before I have copied ESD file to a safe location on an external disk.

Still cannot run Utorrent (paid version) and Malwarebytes (paid version) together. It immediately bluescreens. Yet I can run both separately.

++1, I always make an ISO out of .esd first thing after downloading and store it in my "ISO museum" on another disk.

I have about 3 older versions of the insider builds ISO backed up on my separate HDD with the current build.

I keep them ALL, that's why I call it Museum.
I also make an bootable USB with it if something (it did couple of times) go wrong.

    First a warning:

    warning   Warning
As was with earlier build upgrades, it seems that an old not so nice feature has made a comeback: the install.esd file will be removed from C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources folder when upgrade is finished. The fact that this happens now with build 14965 might indicate it will also happen with future build upgrades.

To be able to make your own ISO for possible repair and re-installs, remember to copy it to a safe location (an external disk for instance) before starting the upgrade, before clicking Restart now!

The above being said, here's a onetime offer to those of you fellow geeks who forgot to copy the ESD file before upgrade and in doing so lost the opportunity to make an ISO image.

I've uploaded both British English and US English Windows 10 PRO Build 14965 x64 ISO images to OneDrive. If you don't find the ESD and need an ISO, you can download it from here: 14965 ISO on Kari's OneDrive

I am sorry but as I have no use for Windows 10 Home edition and 32 bit PRO, I have no Home ISO images nor do I have PRO 32 bit to offer. EN-GB & EN-US x64 PRO only!
