Is anyone else experiencing more frequent random crashes with Edge after this update? I have had 3-4 strange crashes that did not occur prior to the update. Edge screen will stay on, cursor will move, but I can't type in any of the fields. Forcing the computer in and out of sleep made it resume 3 out of 4 times. (had to reboot once)

CPU usage is high with some applications and programs with this update, never had an issue with the updates before

I am also experiencing some rather strange freezes when using MS Edge since the last round of updates.

Initially I was unsure if possibly it was due to not having run the latest Windows Defender updates, and then I decided to run MRT.

If anything after running MRT, the problem has got worse. Is it possible that MRT is affecting some legitimate operation running under MS Edge?

I have one computer running it, took most of Thursday to update but it had to go through 2 Upgrade levels and numerous updates to get from Version 10240 that came on the new computer up to 14393.447. Over the last couple of months setting up new computers for clients I noticed new machines aren't as up-to-date so I wasn't surprised that the one I got was the same, appears once built the vendors don't change them.

I all depends on when they were shipped from the OEM. They are not going to re image finished product after its built and boxed up.

Try this with your wifi adapter:
    1. Open device manager.
    2. Find the wifi network adapter, right click it, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the Power Management tab, and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

I had an issue with one of my laptops that sounds exactly like yours. I made this change and the wifi adapter wakes up fine from sleep.
Hi, thanks for the suggestion Azucho98, sadly I tried this the same day I spotted the issue, but neither that or the latest update KB3200970 has fixed it. It is not too big a deal to toggle the flight mode on and off to wake it up, so I am hopeful that over time, MS will update their code so it plays nice with the AR956x driver.

I fully agree with you there I brought 4 new ones all boxed and had to update them but all 4 only took an hour each via Wi-Fi.
All I did while they were updating was carry on using the one I have, once done I removed the 3rd party antivirus and Windows Defender kicked in once I did a restart

The Update went well on both of my W10 systems, but sadly on the W10 PRO system I have again lost the ability to perform Soft restarts ! The other W10 HOME system restarts just fine. The only difference between the two is the HOME system is a UEFI while the PRO system is Legacy Boot ?

Some serious issues on my side of the globe!

    - my online back-up program won't launch it's GUI anymore
    - my ESET Smart Security v10 FireWall is not responding to any new made connections

Was troubleshooting this for a few hours, no luck. Before I revert back to 14393.351, any directions?

    Cheers

My installation of KB3200970 failed with 0x800f081f. Most of the reports of that error on the web involved a run of DISM, not installation of maintenance, but I assume the reason is the same: I'm missing something. I hid the update, and did a little debugging, but I'm not really sure what to do next. SFC /scannow found problems so I unhid the update and am downloading it again, but I really don't expect that to help. If there is no miracle and I get the same failure, what do I do next?

Update: Miracles do happen. It installed this time and I'm about to reboot.

Can anybody suggest why an installation of KB3200970 could fail with 0x800f081f one time and succeed the next? Did I download a corrupted version of the fix the first time? I don't know what kind of stuff has to be missing to cause a 0x800f081f, but I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to make it magically appear.
