    Tip for anyone who uses Panda Anti-virus, if at first you don't succeed with these updates, try again after temporarily disabling Panda and it should go OK next time, seems to work for me when there's a hiccup.

    Update downloaded quite quickly (5 minutes) after failed update yesterday.
    Updated successfully in about 10 minutes. Now at 447.

    Updates speed may be slowed or accelerated because of many user and isp provider environments to the point you just have sit back and relax eventually they get installed. I just don't have issues with the windows update. And, like many, my last update October not sure if it was the early or late one, hung and wouldn't restart unless the PC was restarted.
