    This just in from Windows ace Woody Leonhard at InfoWorld:

    It took nine cumulative updates and more than 12 weeks, but the latest version of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update seems good to go. I've converted my production Win10 Fall Update (version 1511) systems to 1607 and recommend you do the same. For those of you who used the wushowhide trick to block the upgrade to 1607, now's a good time to go back and "unhide" the update.

    Why the optimism? Microsoft has finally fixed most (although not all) of the myriad problems that appeared in the original Aug. 2 release.

    Hi,

    Totally agree. With a little work you can now have Windows 10 AU totally free of errors.

    Took the a while though......

    Hey Frank!
    I can't say mine are "totally free of errors" (I can't be bothered, for example, to fix the DCOM stuff) but I can say mine all work well enough for me to make a living and not spend more time fixing broken OSes than getting things done.

    PS: Just tried the 6th Glass Quadrupel from Boulevard, and it's quite nice.

    Have to agree. I've had all sorts of Windows 10 issues ever since getting it over a year ago. It's been a love hate relationship. But so far this latest update seems pretty good. Things that are important to me like start menu, tiles, the browsers are behaving much better. There's still much to frustrate me but things are better. I fully expect MS to break stuff again with the next updates though! Joking aside , the relentless updates since Aug 2 have got rather tiresome. They really need to slowdown a bit. I for one am tired of so many hitting us and worrying about how things turn out once it's done it's thing

    Hi,
    @EdTittel :

    I am enjoying a Chimay Tripel now :

    Haven't seen anything from the Boulevard Brewery yet over here.

    Yep, I feel that was the case of the majority of early adopters.
    Windows 7 was certainly MS's masterpiece but things evolve and W10 is getting really good and stable.

    Totally agree Ed. I look at my Event Viewer every day and see the same DCOM Error, I'm lazy, I just think I'll have to fix that tomorrow. An ongoing scenario :)

    We had to wait for three months to have an almost bud free build. This is unacceptable.

    I'm having trouble with the AU on a Acer Aspire thin laptop. Since the latest updates I can not find a video driver that works correctly. The driver from the Windows Update freezes the laptop. The driver from Acer are outdated and won't run. The drivers from AMD has the same freeze problem even after installing the hot fix. To stop it from freezing I have to disable the AMD driver. I know it's a driver problem but what about those that don't know how to diagnose or fix problems like this on their devices. To me this is unacceptable and a example of why updates should not be automatic.
