Downloaded and installed without any problem, but the bug saga continues...

As many of you know, a lot of users have reported that previously released KB3194496 killed their ability to use USB devices. I was one of the victims of this issue and the only solution for me was to uninstall this update completely and disable (hide it) from automatic reinstallation.

This morning another KB3194798 was installed on my Dell XPS laptop with exactly the same effect - USB ports are dead and my Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller cannot be started nor its driver updated.

I understand that the newer KB included some buggy part present in the older KB and that's the reason my USB ports aren't working again. It seems to be no way to control this, as 1. I don't know which "sub-KB" kills my port and 2. I can't select which "sub-KBs" to install, it's all or nothing...

Does anyone has this problem as well and figured out how to resolve the issue? I can't simply skip any new updates...

Why the latest update number decreased from 14393.322 to 14393.321 for 1607 Windows 10 home version after update of KB3194798

I had also a problem with 1607.187 that suddenly USB Drivers won´t install.
I believe it was happening after Install Intel HD Drivers ver. 4501 for my HD 4600.
I remove that ones and installed ver.4463 .

At the moment I use Dell-branded graphics drivers, version 4483. Dell hasn't produced a package to update it to the current version yet. Do you think that graphic drivers can kill USB functionality?

Cliff S Are you saying that there is and update for 1511 and a update for 1607 and each of them would have the same KB number ?

Yep, KB is just an article/informational designation, not the update itself.
