That does not look good. Probably the best will be a Repair . see this : Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade - Windows 10 Forums
Downloaded and installed this morning. Quick and no problems
Thank you! But do you think it's that serious?
Forums are full of people like me complaining on dead USB ports after applying end-of-September and later updates. Even at my workplace, HP and Asus laptops have been affected. That would be a serious problem if everyone needed to do the repair to fix this one...
On the other hand I looked for an answer on both Microsoft and Dell forums and so far no one has been able to provide a tip to resolve this issue in any way...
That is what I suggest you, and that would be exactly what I would do.
With Repair [In-Place Upgrade] (it is NOT the same as a Clean Install) you will *not* lose anything, everything stays as it was before, just Windows will be repaired.
It takes some time. After that you only need last Update.
Thanks again, Adalwar! I will wait a while before doing so, as I've came across this thread related to potential conflict with McAfee security package.
I happen to have McAfee suite installed on my XPS, as it's the work one. My personal Dell laptop (Precision series) with Kaspersky package hasn't suffered from this issue, so it may be the problem source.
