In previous Builds you could 'Pin to the Start List', but I think that option is gone perhaps for good!

Crap, thanks EDWIN .... I thought I was delusional. I could have sworn I saw that feature on Windows 10 and I was like yes, ok :) That and control panel.
So I guess I remembered it from an older build and now they removed it. Thank You for explaining that to me.

I wish they would bring that option back!
I'd be pleased to have my Start Menu function such as this, nothing more:
-
I've requested it through Feedback, basically from my point of view I've a massive waste of space all down the left hand side of Start.
-
Wow, see I like that how you have everything in medium so you can see the names, that is how I have it, but yes, I totally agree with you. What a massive amount of waste of space you have over there, its completely useless. If you had pin to start you could pin all this too your start bar thus making it smaller. That's unbelievable the amount of wasted space there. Wow.
That is why I used Start8 on Windows 8.1. It was ridiculous without it.

I used Start8 on W8.1 but I do like W10's Start. It's just the lack of customisation on the left hand panel really renders it useless.

Sorry, but "Wasted"? What else would you be using it for?

I dont understand? Look at his start menu. He's got only the Power Button & All Apps. All these pinned tiles. He could take half of those pinned tiles and paste them above the POWER BUTTON and have a list going up of 'X' amount of apps he would pin. 5,10,15. w/e. But instead its an empty void next to tiles

Yes, Windows 8.1 is difficult to beat with what you speak of. Most of all I miss the Charms. A much better way to navigate.
You don't like the Start Screen/Start Menu combo even at full screen?
In tablet mode, to get the All Apps you have to click the hamburger button and then go way back down and click all apps. And then scroll through the menu to find what your looking for. Most of what's on the Start Menu I already have on my Start Screen. I personally think its a step backward not forward. It's my most disliked feature of Windows 10. And one that may see me going back to Windows 8.1 on some of my PC's.

From what I've read, Microsoft are going to make Windows 10 a subscription service. I think it's a good idea as look what Adobe did with Photoshop CC making it a subscription service - to which I subscribe too and it's much cheaper than buying the full product. I know Windows it much cheaper than Photoshop, but oh well...
Nope. Microsoft has said over and over that Windows will not be a subscription service. Ummm, I believe free will trump your subscription any day. :)

Edwin, I just clicked on All Apps, scrolled down to Excel, right clicked it and clicked on Pin to Start. Excel is now sitting at the bottom of Start. Well, it was, until I moved it to the top. :)
