The Edge problems are weird as mine works fine. Not that I use it, though.......

I posted in the wrong place earlier so here goes again.

After a whole day of trying to install 14942, this morning I uninstalled MBAM and disabled my antivirus program (NOD32) and let update do it's thing.

    Success!

Now my question is was I just lucky this time or did MSFT fix the update?

My antivirus program worked fine and I have not reinstalled MBAM but I would like to try it.

No time right now because I have a pre-op exam for the surgery I will be having tomorrow morning.

    Thanks all.
From what I've read the problem is with the Paid version of Malwarebytes. I tried installing the free version but it keeps installing my paid version then causes a blue screen. MBAE causes Edge to crash. If I go into the MBAE setting and disable it protecting Edge I can use Edge. I mainly use Edge in my Insider builds so I uninstalled MBAE. I uninstalled MBAM and no more bluescreens. I have had my computer restart two time when I woke it. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but both times this happened the computer went to sleep from being idle for the preset time. I haven't experienced the restart when I manually put my computer to sleep. The wife and I will pray that your surgery goes OK!

After long sleeps this 14942 was booting into lock screen. I always switch off hibernate so checked that there was no hiberfil.sys. It continued to reboot after long sleeps so I ran the "powercfg -h off" cmd yesterday. This morning, after a night in sleep mode, it came out of sleep as normal.

Question. Is the presence of hiberfil.sys not a good indicator any more or was this normal wake today a fluke?
very interesting. Too bad I reverted back to previous build because of sleep issue, plus a few other issues.

My 'problems' are very minor so sticking with this build is not an issue. We have to hope the sleep issues are fixed next time!

    Update:

With any luck we might get a build by Friday. Or better yet next week to get more things squared away.

Did you do a clean install or WU? I have decided to be a 'glutton for punishment' and reinstall using clean install and see what difference that might make.

MS went into the laptop that's giving me the problems with this new insider build. I wonder what they were looking for lol.

I'd be interested to know how a clean install turns out, Magilla. I seem to remember that someone did a clean install and it didn't make a whole lot of difference, but I'm not sure.
