That's what's so strange about these issues, John. None of us have identical issues. It's like, maybe, hardware independent, yet, hardware dependent. We both have Logitech mice, but totally different. I have problems with mine, you don't. You have mobo A and I have mobo B. You get issue 1, I get issue 2 and we both get issue 3. It makes a convoluted type of sense to me; what do you think?
Sounds like a operating system version of Desert Storm Syndrome.Desert Storm syndrome | definition of Desert Storm syndrome by Medical dictionary

Anyone else seeing these strange numbers in WIN + X menu (right click Start):
Did you try deleting those numbers ? I just added old control panel link to right click menu using this:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/6...dows-10-a.html

It showed number in front of the link but I deleted it and it shows up without it. BTW, those numbers seem to set order links appear in in that menu.

Because of multiple problems with this build, I have returned to previous build on both computers. The laptop didn't have the sleep issue, but did have other issues, calendar would not open, edge wouldn't open, even feedback hub wouldn't operate correctly, then wouldn't close. Desktop had issues with post sleep failure to start up again.

14942 still won't work for me after several tries. It seemingly installs (4 times) with no problem, starts up and is fully usable. But if I reboot, it won't start again. There's a message that Windows attempts repair, which isn't successful. I've gone back to 14936 and temporarily set Insider Preview to "Slow." I'll try again when the next build rolls out.

Can't say as I blame you, Magilla. It seems like more and more of us are finding it necessary to roll back. I wish it weren't so, but, that's the way it goes sometime.

Yes, I'll try again when the next Build rolls out too, Larc. These problems won't stop me from testing.

I just tried another thing. Made a shortcut in Group2 called "Control Panel" with Target as %windir%\system32\control.exe
Without the number it ended at the bottom of menu in group2.

I sure wish it wouldn't continually go to downloading 14942 when it sits right on my hard drive.

Oh well, another day of trying.

Logic suggests that M$ are releasing differing copies of the same issue.....this could be easily done with the update being available one day for some and on another for others.
If this were the case M$ could being killing two birds with one stone....sorting out the coding on different setups.
