Yep, there were so many "little" things going wrong and then there was no solution to my biggest problem. Somebody messed up big time.
It's a work in progress and not all of the modules of code are likely up to the same level of testing when a new build is dropped. That would account for all of the issues that are encountered. When a new build is compiled all of the bits are as is and who knows what condition they're in at that point in time. That's what makes testing big things, like an OS, fun.. well for me at least.

Gotta hand it to ya, Jeff, you're a patient man! :)
Me, I think they've got too much on their plate!
Well.. I ran into this situation many a time at work so I'm used to this kind of testing. It can be messy and seem out of control but I know there's a big plan and things will work out in the end.

Got to have faith my friend.

    - I think I've exhausted all possibilities in trying to get connected to Xbox Live
    - so for the time being, I'm unable to use it..
    - guess that means I'm left waiting for a new build (?)

    - you'd think Microsoft might be keen to fix this particular glitch sooner rather than later..

After uninstalling MBAM and MBAE everything seems to be OK. I went to Feedback and was going to report it. There were so many post about it I decided to just Upvote on all the post. This morning when I woke my computer MS was asking about how many crashes I was having with this build. I told them about the problem with MBAM and MBAE.

It could be because AV and Anti Malware software needs to use rootkits to work in Windows(has to do with permissions and protection at boot). Microsoft might have changed something low level.
Guess that's why I'm not seeing the problems others have, am running only Windows Defender of both of mine.

OK, I haven't had any further issues waking up the computer, even when left on overnight. So it might just be that my system needed a bit of time to iron things out. Sorry, Wynona, not much else to show on my side.

However, Edge refuses to start. If I start it just closes right back. If I do this 3 times in a row it presents with a page asking if I want to start fresh. If I click the start fresh button, it opens a new tab... and force closes again.

If I get Edge to stay open, the minute I click on the address bar, it force closes as well.

Note, I very rarely use Edge, so this if not a big deal for me. But to have something not work like this is a major problem overall with the OS.

Oh, and although i am a ßeta tester for MBA / MBAE, since I bought my 1 TB drive a few months bank I haven't actually reinstalled either product on my machine when I did the clan install. Thanks So, that rules out my issues being related to MB.

I know it's a work in progress, Jeff. That's why I Beta Test. And yes, testing is fun, but finding solutions is much more satisfying.

We have to remember that discussion of problems in a particular Build isn't wrong and neither is pointing out "unexpected features". That through discussions of this type, solutions have been found. Acknowledging that this is the worst Build ever experienced, the challenge should be to figure out what went wrong, and where it went wrong. It should not be taken as a complaint, because through discussion, I or someone else may pinpoint something overlooked before.

When Microsoft drops a new Build, it has already been through testing by a large number of testers and computers in-house, and should be stable, but occasionally, as with Build 14942, it's not. That's where we come in, telling MS where it's good or where it's not.

Finally, you can bet your bottom dollar that Microsoft is looking in here at TF. After all, we have a large number of MVPs and former MVPs participating.
