OK, so both my desktop and laptop are running Windows 8.1, yet on my desktop the upgrade to Windows 10 icon is gone and I have no "$Windows-BT" folder on it. However, on my laptop, the icon is still there, and I also have the BT folder as well, which is reading 4.17gig...

What gives? And can I start installing now from the folder, or do I have to wait for some world from MS. BTW I've not seen any email notifications alerting me that 10 is ready for download.

BTW my Win 7 machine also still has the icon, but have not seen the BT folder yet.

    Thanks.

You have to wait for the upgrade to finish downloading. The Windows BT folder needs to be about 8GB. You will receive as notification once it is ready to install.

I've given up on the GWX App. I went here instead and just selected upgrade this Pc now. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/windows10. I did my two laptops and main desktop. I didn't time it but it took an hour or so for each PC. I did them all at the same time and just went from PC to PC to click prompts when needed. Setup failed on my laptop but went fine the second time around. They all show activated and no key was asked for. YMMV

I'll probably wait till this weekend to do some updates if nothing happens by then. However the more I think about it, the less I'm in a hurry to upgrade my main system yet as I've got photo & printer software that absolutely has to work without issue.

Anyway I'll probably update my Win 8 laptop and Win 7 desktops first, and if all is good, my Win 8 main rig later.

    Thanks.

Well it's been a few hours and the BT folder is still only 4.17gig so I'm not sure where you see it has to be 8gig? Anyway I'll wait.

    Peace.

Mine was 8GB. After it finished downloading, it instantly asked me to upgrade.

Still waiting...I was under the assumption insiders would be first but apparently that's not the case. I have neighbors who got it and they don't know what an insider is. My God I am terrible at waiting!
