Windows 10 Release Date July 29

I just had a thought (happens occasionally!). I wonder if my problems with favorites is because they were created from an import from Chrome? Maybe the format not being handled properly is what is causing my "funnies"?
Perhaps others could chip in with their findings.

OK, will keep talking to myself!! A few hours ago I deleted all my favorites from Edge and re-imported them. So far it seems much better behaved - may it continue!
-
My total opinionated guess would be that downloads will start stealthily a few days before July 29th.

I think you are totally correct. MS will start to seed Win10 updates so on the 29th they don't have to send down everything at one time..

I'm listening, Lin. :)
I guess I should try Edge again, but it's so disappointing when I want to do something and it doesn't work. Lean and mean is one thing, but convenience is more important to me.

I was just thinking, once rtm has hit there is no point really waiting until the 29th to move the insiders over, if they start giving the gold version to insiders once its been sent to rtm, then in the run up to the 29th you can free up the bandwidth and start sending it to more of the public.

I've got 3 machines here pre-ordered, Johns laptop and desktop with 7 and my Asus Notebook with 8.1 and although I've got unlimited broadband the speed isn't brilliant.
Still waiting to see what I do with my 7 desktop.

You mean like a ninja? Kung Fu Panda? If something stealthily starts downloading on a system my spider senses go off...

LOL :) It should only start, I would imagine, if you said YES to reserving your copy. :)
Bullets through a monitor does not a computer kill. :)

Finally made it over here! John :) Figured I would stop in for the latest news.
One thing I will be waiting to see here is if and if we see ISO or another type of download such as an executable. If you can keep the download separate and not see the upgrade process start automatically then as I have been hearing you should be able to perform a clean install to a separate drive and still maintain your present set up.
Here I have some hardwares I know will not work on 10 since the original last drivers available just made 7! I still have a few older PCI composite type devices that now discontinued actually before 8 launched since everything was going usb. Rather then replacing 7 where everything is still in operation the clean install of 10 would have to be to the second OS drive presently available.
The preview is on a VM at the moment and still no sign of getting that connected online. I do have to wonder what the compatibility detection process will show as far as the nic card in use for Lan and the tv tuner/capture card will eventually go usb anyways while I still have a second desktop with 7 Pro that available as well I could put 10 on. Everything was a bit newer at the time it was put together but wouldn't see the specs the main case has plus uses a usb WiFi plug(matched to the WiFi router the laptops connect through) at the time being to be a portable case. 4gb there not the 16gb of ram seen on the main build where I would prefer to see a dual boot but not connected through the BCD as I tried with the 8 preview where both 7 and 8 saw disk errors come up. A stand alone for the second OS HD only!
