I know how its going to work for those people currently using 7 and 8/8.1 but what about those of us currently testing Windows 10.

Will we get an new icon about the upgrade or will something else happen?

Or will I have to go back to 8.1 to be qualified.
I upgraded my laptop from 8.1 to 10 and I am hoping that it will just be upgraded to the release version. If I am wrong, I can pop in the old HHD with 8.1 upgrade and then clone to the SSD. I can't see Microsoft giving a free upgrade if you did a clean install of Windows 10 but maybe I am wrong.

Cool. I assume there will also be ISOs available for us to do clean installs.

With past updates/upgrades you could download a compatibility checker. I wonder will one of these be available for Win 10 as I haven't found it yet.

If my PC couldn't run Win 8.1, would run Win 8, will Win 10 work on it?

    Sooooo....many questions

I'm pretty sure that if your pc can run 8.1 it can run 10.

    Evening everyone,

Sadly, although my Windows 7 X64 install is 'legit', and my PC runs Windows 10 happily (I'm an insider), the Windows 10 App doesn't show on my taskbar...

    Very Best Wishes,
    Bob.

Thanks for that, I'm installing all of the recommended updates now - I did all of the important ones earlier. I'll report back.

    Very Best Wishes,
    Bob.

Windows 10 Release Date July 29

I received the "nag" to sign up on my Win 7 boot and did so. I'm going to keep my Win 8.1 boot as a backup/alternative.

    The date is "confirmed" here.
