Don't be a pessimist!
Sigh, updates rarely go well though when upgrading to a newer O/S. I wonder if on my laptop all my software and such? I would much rather preform a clean ISO install of 10.
I always used to do clean installs for the last 20 years or so, but with Win10 I decided to try the upgrade path over my Win8.1pro and all my programs. Result? No problems at all with all the fasttrack updates of Win10 over my Win8.1. All my programs I've tested run just the same. Looks like MS have cracked the update problems.
Give it a try, you might be surprised!

I upgraded my laptop from 8.1 to 10 and I am hoping that it will just be upgraded to the release version. If I am wrong, I can pop in the old HHD with 8.1
upgrade and then clone to the SSD. I can't see Microsoft giving a free upgrade if you did a clean install of Windows 10 but maybe I am wrong.
Ak
Yes that should work. I popped a new SSD into install the Windows Technical preview and I will stick the Windows SSD back in and updated it up to the level where I can update to Windows 10.

Thanks for that, I'm installing all of the recommended updates now - I did all of the important ones earlier. I'll report back.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.
I've installed further updates, and still no App in the task bar.
There is talk that maybe it's only en_us at the moment...
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Hopefully the Start Menu won't be as buggy as it is for me when it's released.
