I got this Update last Friday automatically.
But, I did not Subscribed any "Insider Build" what ever.
Do I am a Insider Group without knowing? How to disable this, my PC is production and I can not, nor I do not want, to go all that Beta´s Releases.
Build 187 had also problems installing, now 222 is also Broken.
No you are not an insider. This update despite its problems has been released to all users.

This update has failed multiple times on my system, is there any validity to the fix suggested here Getting s the Fix
Check out my last post in the thread--the fix for me was very simple. After 8 reboot failures (requiring some 10 minutes each) in which my office hours settings (supposed to delay installs during certain hours) were ignored as well as the hide-update setting (also ignored), I found a solution that worked and took ~45 minutes, unattended.

Don't know if this applies to you, necessarily, but people do themselves a disservice by logging onto a problem thread at its end without reading through many of the earlier posts--should at least start half-way through, imo, as often that is where solutions are found (rather than at the end.)

Yes, that is probably a true statement, I started at the beginning of what was 27 pages after 1st searching the Feedback Hub that is filled with this problem. I was leery about the XblGamesave edit but decided to go that route after running the Microsoft update troubleshooter 4 times. That did succeed for me.

So it may go to show that we are all Lab Rats or Guinea Pigs in the race to improve the push to get Windows (formerly known as ...10) on all PCs - you don't just have to be an Insider, and anyway you got it for free, didn't you?
After spending spending 37 years in (what is now called) IT departments of IBM mainframe shops, I'm well aware that the customer base is a software vendor's largest and most important test team. That is inevitable. This relationship works best when both customer and vendor understand, acknowledge, and appreciate the relationship. But playing an important role doesn't necessarily make life easy for the Guinea pigs.

    So back to my puzzlement.:

    • Is KB3194496 somehow immune to Wushowhide?
    • Does the fact that Windows tried to install KB3194496 in spite of it's being hidden mean the laptop is going to be another unfortunate victim?
    • Do I have to let KB3194496 download before Wushowhide will take effect? (No, that can't be. It originally saw and hid KB3194496 before it was downloaded.)

    Update:
I just saw that Waltc also reported KB3194496 being immune to being hidden. This bodes ill.

I was able to hide KB3194496 with no problem. I applied the fix involving the Xbox stuff, then unhid it, then the update applied quickly and flawlessly.

I don't know what's going on with you and Waltc, but I actually hid it and unhid it several times in various testing, with no issues.

I was able to hide that update for several days, until I tried the neowin fix, which worked for me.

Bukach, Neowin posted that fix on October 3 and it's been posted here at least once already. It worked for a friend, but if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't work for everyone with the issue.

Back on Window 7 previously hidden updates would re-appear if Microsoft reissued it (even if it had the same KB number). That was a frequent ruse with the 'Get Windows 10' one. Perhaps something similar has happened here?

On another (perhaps related?) point, I notice that there is no 'How to get this update ... Method 2: Microsoft Update Catalog' in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3194496

Nor can KB3194496 be found by searching the Update Catalog http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/...px?q=KB3194496

Question . . . Is anyone still being offered this update?

Depending on whether the question was answered yes or no . . .

Yes: Forget I said anything. :)

No: Maybe MS has pulled the update, as your search seems to indicate, Bree.

Of course, this is just a WAG.
