Must be the "twitchiness", because mine opens every time, and I have "no new notifications"
While my use of 'twitchiness' might not be a technical term, it sure fits these builds. :)

My previous comments were from the Surface Pro 3 I have it on. And on that it very definitely is 'twitchy'! Close the keyboard, goes to sleep, sometimes when it wakes up all apps are closed down, sometimes all are still up and available, sometimes some are closed down and others still up. The new Mail is almost impossible use on it as sometimes it responds to touch and other times it doesn't. I could name a few more oddities.

Last night I installed the new 10130 ISO on my Yoga 2 Pro. All went well until the last step, then it said "sorry it is taking longer than usual" on the screen. I left it like that for about 30 minutes and finally did a force shutdown with the power button. I figgered either it will boot ok or it won't. It booted fine except that the trackpad wasn't seen. Got a new driver which didn't fix, but the new one said to delete the old one from the "programs and features" and reinstall. So I deleted and rebooted and THEN the trackpad worked fine without installing anything else.

Overall it runs very much better on the Lenovo Yoga than it has every run on my SurfacePro 3. Still get the some close some open apps after sleep for no reason I can discern. But all the apps I've tried run fine otherwise, including the new Mail. Of course, Tapatalk doesn't work and hasn't with any of the builds.

You'd think MS would want W10 to run the best on their flagship machine!

Yes, agreed. Amazing that it's running better on a Lenovo than a SurfacePro 3!

For Cortana to work you need to have the following:
    • Windows display language and the set region need to match. For instance if Windows is in US English, the region has to be set to USA, using UK English Windows the location has to be set to United Kingdom, using French Windows the location must be France and so on (Settings > Time & language > Region & Language)
    • Location for the device must be turned on (Settings > Privacy > Location)

Are you sure that you have used the US English install media, or could it be possible that you have used the UK English ISO? If so you need to set the location to United Kingdom.
I reinstalled (clean install 10130 build and for about 30 minutes actually heard Cortana speak. Then, upon restarting the vocal component was gone, never to be heard again. In addition, most of the control panel and its subset of items - when opened, opened doubles and need to be closed twice, also. So, I think there is much work that needs to be done before prime time

    AMD updates are messing up

MS pushed AMD updates and messing up with my CrossFire setup. When CrossFire is not in use, only the fans of the primary GPU should be spinning. But after the update was installed, both GPU's fans are spinning. So I rolled back the driver and turned 2 out of 3 monitors to black and white. All 3 are working but 2 are B&W. I can't figure out how to fix it, so I refreshed this build and got all 3 monitors working back again in full color.
How can I stop AMD updates from installing itself? Will switching to Slow ring stop it?

That will only delay new builds but maybe going to a metered connection will stop it.

Yeah, I knew about the new builds. I just can't find any other way to stop specific updates from installing.
I remember Gabe tweeted about AMD issues on one recent build. I think they still haven't sorted it out.
It also says something about "Engineering Sample..."

In Windows 8 you go to the System page > Advanced system settings > Hardware Tab > Device Installation Settings, then set it to "No, let me choose what to do. I don't have my Windows 10 PC on at the moment to see if also has that setting.

I don't think it works in Windows 10.

I don't think that's the same thing. What the setting I posted does is tell Windows not to install drivers automatically from Windows update. If a driver is needed for a piece of hardware you'll get a prompt asking you if you want to check Windows update for a driver. You can then say no and manually install the one you want. I did what you posted in Windows 8.1 and it gets me a list of already installed drivers to pick from. Like doing a driver roll back etc.
