Thanks, jygoro! That indeed got me going again...

I have a very similar rig to yours: older Compaq (Dual Core E2180, intel G33). I wonder if they will ever provide proper drivers. Not really a big deal for me personally - I'll be getting a new rig fairly soon, most likely.

    Thanks again!
You're welcome. Yes, it seems everyone with that problem has a CPU without SSE4.1 support. Now I only need to know if intel GPU it's also a requirement or it would happen with Nvidia/AMD graphics too.

The broken network discovery I have now seems to be very similar to what occurred in Nov last year.

I can only see my shares if my comp is the master browser. Obviously, this comp fails to communicate with another comp that is the MB therefore no shares seen and net view fails.

    Deja vu all over again!

This is the same as 915 for me, it gets an error while installing and goes back to the older version.
time to reinstall clean I think, as I cant get into setting etc to turn off insider preview, so it keeps installing the latest version and the crashing

If you have that folder, you didn't do fresh (does that mean you did clean install ?) In any case, you can get rid of it Using Disk Cleanup if you don't plan to reverse build or you don't have anything from old windows that you might need.

Shame my build is showing problems, Google Earth is faulty, web pages using the Edge keep "not responding" and some old game programs are unstable.
Roll on the next build. I will switch over to the ordinary W10 in the meantime.
