From reading around it should only be about 400 ish meg, but have seen some say its getting onto 2 gig

not sure why its taking so long, a couple of gig on very poor broadband should only be a couple of hours or so

Just hope this is not the future for updates
Yeah I was about to start running through some of the known fixes for stuck updates then saw this thread saying it's not really stuck. This could cause a lot of confusion for people...

Interesting, report back if you get stuck at 95%. I've been at 95% for over half an hour now.

If its looking stuck, check in taskmanager at the network field, when mine looked stuck it was receiving data, although slowly
Cant remember the actual process name, as mine has now finished

Not only Windows 10 update is stuck, on Windows 7 side, checking for update takes forever ............................
Like many others My Windows 10 is stuck at 95%. It's over 10 hours since the download started....
Oh, make that 11 hours to complete the download - it finished while I was typing.

My Windows 7 update was fast though, as it has always been since installing the 'Convenience rollup update for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1'. This one isn't delivered through Windows Update, you can only get it from the Microsoft Update Catalog. More here:

[Update] My mistake, it hadn't finished after all. It had stopped and gone back to saying 'updates are available' with a 'Download' button (I'm on a metered connection). Clicked 'download' and it's back to 'stuck at 95%'

Hmm I can't see any process related to Windows update or anything using the network. Update still going in the background.

It starts with either Service ...... or System ...... (might be service host)

I just had it sorted by network then watched it, could see the data coming in, but slowly
