Just tried one thing. Personalize > Color, if I'm fast enough I can change accent color and than it stays opened until I close it. Can change all options but when opened next time it closes in couple of seconds. So, as long as you can click on any color, you can change them at leisure.

I Couldn't get 14905 to update to 14915 via WU. I had the 14905 known issue of being stuck on the slow ring Insider delivery branch when it should be fast ring and as we know the setting change wouldn't work .

I tried some reg hacks I posted that worked in the past for this here and a new one posted at Windows Insiders but no dice they did not work .

I was able to find a 14915 enUS x64 ESD from a trusted source on the web and got that in here after decrypting it with Kari's new tool at the tutorial and made media for a clean install ,nothing like starting fresh on an SSD .

Kudo's to Kari for all that and for the tutorials.

14915 installed the wrong internal broadcom WI FI drivers in this new PC so it wouldn't connect ,they would not pass through the WPA/WPA2 AES WEP key to let me on my network even though it was seeing my network .

I was able to find the working Broadcom driver # in the AU on my OEM metal drive and oddly found it at HP for another PC model from a Google search .

HP doesn't have any driver downloads for this new PC at this time on its model specific HP support pages .

I rolled the WI FI driver in 14915 so that's all simply fixed and done . 14915 holds a fast ring setting and otherwise (so far) as I can see is working at least here decently so far.

14905 is one win beta ESD I won't be keeping I usually retain 3 or 4 at a time on another drive .

. I might run some HDD and memory I/O throughput bench marks and see how 14915 stacks up against 14905 on this PC and SSD any earlier trends on my old test mule would be statistically invalid but I will looks at HDD and memory I/O there anyway but they been looking good on this new rig in my specs *for what it is *

Fingers still crossed here as usual for a Win beta

Just thought I would add my 14915 clean install is very fast and multi tasks well *within this PC's capabilities* which are decent for everyday computing on a brand new desktop PC w/ Haswell Intel Core i5 , 8GB ram and SSD and still fast on the OEM metal HDD with the AU update on it in here .

    I tried the following:

1 When I set the background to a solid color from picture the app started to crash.
2 I set a picture from explorer and the app didn't crash so I could then set up a slide show for the background and it worked.

What seems to be the issue is using solid colors for the background.

I'M glad I use the spotlight for the lock screen and the stock themes ,stock Blue windows 10 desktop background and colors it all works fine for me now YMMV.
I used to customize my desktop with hires images and skins and slides shows and all that but in my dotage I like it straight out the box blue now and clean stock windows light theme with a spotlight lock screen :)

Perhaps a man in his dotage shouldn't be on the Fast Ring :)
I came off the Fast Ring because for now I'm back to one PC and also Ihave recently entered my dotage and don't like bugs that are major any more (well at least until I get another machine)

Try opening an admin command prompt and copy and right click paste this in:

    fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\&fsutil usn deletejournal /d /n c:&Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&&sfc /scannow&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc /scannow&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase&pause

Let it run through and then restart when it's done.
Note this will clean out the Windows component store, which means you will NOT be able to uninstall any Windows updates after, so make a system image before if you might be planning on that as another option

this will also clean up and old WinSxS files which are copies of shared program files, such as DLL's customized for each specific program that needs them.
    Hello Cliff,

I just realized that do not have the time deal with this right now, but I have saved your instructions here for when I do. I thank you very much for your input!
