Is this a problem you've only faced since upgrading to build 10122??
I run DisplayLink with my 2nd monitor and works fine up to the build i'm on (10074). There are glitches mind you - when i turn the computer on, if DisplayLink is on, the main screen flickers so bad i can't log in - i have to disconnect the adapter USB cord from the USB port until i'm past the log-in screen then everything works.
Don't give up just yet - go back to 10074 for now - DisplayLink software is updated on a regular basis. Are you running an AMD graphics card by chance?
I have an old Compaq from 2009 with an NVidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 graphics card. When i installed Win 10 build 9926, i couldn't get my 2nd monitor connect via a USB adapter with DisplayLink to work (DisplayLink threw up "update graphics card drivers") Fortunately, i was able to find drivers from NVidia (309.08) either via Windows Updates or searching the web, can't remember. Bottom line, i was then able to install DisplayLink and my 2nd monitor worked from that point to now.
However, hearing the problems some ppl are having with AMD/NVidia/DisplayLink drivers with build 10122, i'm hesitant to move to that build. Call me a chicken! :P
I only just recently got the monitor. I have been running it in Windows 8.1 for the most part. I had a similar issue with the last build. Could not get it to work. Incorrect driver for this monitor, or something like that messages. Yes I an running AMD graphics. AMD A-10 APU with a dedicated GPU, AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7670M. The ccc was also giving me a bunch of "has stopped" messages at the same time. Eventually I bailed and went back to Windows 8.1.
Upgraded build 10074 to the latest last night and the new install went really well.
So far I can find nothing wrong with my install and I am still playing with the machine
and OS to see how it works for me on the beast not designed for this OS. :)
I can also confirm Windows 7 Ultimate gets you Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview. Haven't done the second upgrade to the current build yet though. I just did the online upgrade on my spare desktop PC.
Am downloading now using Chrome. I'm just curious to play with this.
