There hasn't been a single OS that's been "perfect" from day one. Name one if you can think of it.

Windows 7 Ultimate was my all time favorite, gave me the least amount of problems Jeff. :) But Windows 10 Pro is getting there, just needs more time.

In point of fact, I documented this issue on Aug 4th and mentioned is here shortly thereafter.

Webcam video encoding types not available after Win 10 Anniv Update - Windows 10 Forums

It didn't get much attention until the update was more widespread and stated to impact Skype users.

The registry hack works well enough to solve the matter for now.

When I think back about it, I really don't remember having much issues with either XP or Windows 7. The biggest issue of 7 that I recall was trying to install SP3 when it first came out, other than that, I remember them as quite painless (unlike Windows 10).

Sorry I didn't read this thread earlier. I replaced a webcam on 1 pc thinking it was faulty. Maybe it wasn't really faulty at all? Too late now tho.

I very seldom use my webcam but when I saw the post the other day I figured I should test my Logitech, first went into Skype, tried it in the options, no problem, I opened windows 10 Camera and it worked fine also. Why mine should be any different I have no idea.

One of my Dell Notebooks with the AU also works with the Camera application and the login feature and will check others as I go, don't use Skype and didn't try it.

Just tried the camera app and my C920 works fine in that, the Logitech software is another story,

Looking for an alternative to Logitech's software for my C920 webcam - Windows 10 Forums

Several are having problems with it, even after trying the .reg fix it only partially works.

I think it's on both Logitech and Microsoft myself but it looks like Logitech is just going to let Microsoft try and fix it.
