Build 14905 now running very nicely here, fast and responsive.
Quoted myself just to remind me that posting comments about a build shouldn't be done unless you've run it for at least 24 hours.

Around 2 hours after posting that I started getting a non responsive start menu, a lot of apps timing out and an Event Viewer full of "App timed out" errors. I tried various things such as sfc /scannow and dism but nothing came of it. Got up this morning and thought sod it, and did a clean install of the Anniversary build.
I'll wait a while before I hit the Insider builds button :)

Just to add one more option, it works, too: Press WIN + L to lock Windows, or sign out, then shut down from lock screen.
I keep Shutdown and Restart shortcuts on my desktop. Always easy. :)

I'm getting ready to set up a dual boot so I can have the stable build and the insider. The current insider is a bit to unstable to use as a daily OS,, IMO....

For Windows 10 Home 14905 users that experience the Settings app crashing. Copy/Replace LockdownUtil.dll to C:\Windows\System32. This was an issue in 14901 and may still be an issue in 14905.

LockdownUtil.dll from my Windows 10 Pro x64 14905. I will delete when 14905 is superseded.
Is the LockdownUtil.dll Windows 10 Pro x64 14905 an identical file to the 14901 version? ...ditto for x86.

    Thanks to tracit99...

I do not know. When you check Details on each file there is not much information there. I think I read on the MS Answers forum that the size of the x86 is 10KB and the size of the x64 is 13KB so I would think they are different for each architecture.

Yes, the x86 and the x64 are different. On 14901, I tried the Pro x64 file on my x32 installation and it did not work. Those file are indeed different sizes.
