Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14901 for PC Insider
-
These early builds always have major bugs that make it pretty hard to use on a daily basis.
Early Builds? I've been getting Insider Builds since October 2014, so I'm not sure where you're coming from.
Although I realize others are having some issues with Build 14901, I don't seem to have any except for, maybe, Windows' inability to read external drives (including Flash drives) correctly.

According to earlier screen dump 10/1/2016 which to non US friends means 1st October (not 10th January
).
If you do not upgrade to next version before that, it will stop working.

Thanks cereberus ..so we will keep updating our systems with new versions..thats not a problem...got it...thanks again!

Got myself confused again, my TP is 1607, plus 14901.1000, so presumably, it's right up to date.

Run "winver" <without quotes> from a command prompt to get information about the build. For example Build 14901 will expire 10/1/2016 at 7:59 PM. After that date I'm not sure what would happen and have posted that question myself without an answer. However presumably this expiration date (which has remained the same for a long time) will be pushed back.

Likely to be a new build long before the October expiry date.

Just to clarify this small yet important thing: 14901 will expire October 1st at 16:59 (4:59 PM) PDT (Redmond time).
For you in EDT zone it is the time you mentioned but for instance for me it's 02/10/2016 at 01:59 (1:59 AM) CEST and for Tinmar49 02/10/2016 at 00:59 (0:59 AM) BST.
Likely to be a new build long before the October expiry date.
If not the whole Insider program would collapse and MS would have millions of disappointed Insiders with valid and activated yet expired Windows 10 screaming aloud.
That won't happen.
