LOL. Too bad the reported performance increases aren't cumulative or I'd have a dang fine supercomputer by now.

Not the updates fault, but I get the odd occasion where the pc, when booting, stops. I then hit the power button, and then again, and it boots.

    new Windows service update

    Hello
After getting the updates of 8-10-16, I saw that a new M.S. Service is available. Is this just for phones or for desktops and laptops too?
Is it recommended that we install this and if so where to we go to do so?
    TY

Has anyone created a new user after installing KB3176495? I just did a clean install of the Anniversary edition and any user account created AFTER KB3176495 has an issue with the start menu. If you click the start menu or within the Cortana search area, nothing happens. Right-click works, but left click does nothing.

Anyone else have this issue? I've exported a known good users's search hive and imported into a user that does not work and it did not fix the issue. Any known fixes?

I tried uninstalling KB3176495, rebooting, and creating a new account. Same issue, so apparently an uninstall, doesn't necessarily completely/cleanly uninstall. I don't really care for automatic updates for this reason.
