Installed update and no problems to report. Very fast.
After running this update I have a big problem. PC boots up and I get Windows logo then black screen with dots spinning in endless loop. Tried Win 10 install disc and startup repair said it could not fix it. Also could not access restore point. Gave choice to restore to previous build but was afraid to try that. How do I boot into safe mode without windows starting in regular mode. F8 gave me boot order which I used to boot to install disc. I'm stuck with a non working PC right now. Thanks for any help how to correct this. Do I need to make a system repair disc if I have original Win 10 install disc? Should I make a system image? PC says it would be over a terabyte(Can't I just image the C drive containing the O/S)? Thanks

Do you have a backup of your system? Are you on Windows 10 Home, Pro or are you a Windows Insider?

I performed a full disk clean after installing this update and found it freed a lot of space up. The clean-up took around 10 minutes to run from memory (and that's with an SSD).

    Hi there

all I know is the AWFUL I/O experience I was getting - especially on external USB 3 devices seems to have been fixed -- even I/O on Linux VM's running on the Anniversary update HOST is significantly better. This improvement is noticeable both on a laptop and an HP Proliant Gen 8 Microserver (small Cube type thing I'm using as a media and file server).

Often these mega updates include things that are never mentioned -- but I'm glad my main issues seem to have been fixed.

I'd suggest installing the cumulative update as a matter of course after upgrading from build 1511 to 1607.

    Cheers
