Office 2016 Public Preview now available Office

Guys, if you are or will be using the Windows Mail app, too, set it up first with all accounts you need. Only when it is set up and it has set the defaults, set up Outlook 2016. It will (should) now take over the defaults and work properly.
Do this only if I plan to use Windows Mail in addition to Outlook (desktop)?

I've had this default issue two times, both a system where I set up the Outlook 2016 first, only thereafter the Mail App. I have not had this issue once on a system where the Mail App was set up first.
Not very scientific but for me it seems that issue only occurs when the Mail app is set up first. Therefore, as I am sure that I want to use the Mail app, too, I do it now setting up the app first.
That's all I can say :)

I thought that in the latest builds, apps aren't allowed to change the associations, so you have to change them yourself manually? Presumably this even includes Office.

I thought so but at least when I install and setup Outlook, it takes all defaults.

That's the third one I've seen so far connected with Office. I saw that Outlook couldn't start because . . . then there was the one that asked for credentials over and over and over, and now this.
Try a repair and if that doesn't work, do a reinstall. Reinstall is what worked for me.
Thanks Wynona.

And now, with Windows 10 Build 10162, I once again have to reinstall Office 365 for business! This is getting just a bit ridiculous!

I am tired of resetting all my default programs. I was able to do a repair with my office 365 and it worked. Thanks again!

Sheesh, Magilla, how did you do that! So far I haven't found a way to repair!

when you right click on the 'uninstall' it doesn't give you an option to repair offline and repair online?

Lemme go look. Are you talking about Programs and Features?
Edit: Well Blow Me Down! I've always thought of that as uninstall only! I don't think I've ever been told about this feature!
Thanks!
