I have not seen that diggy33. Try upgrading to the new build. I just did and my 180 trial has reset

    Hi guys,

I've just installed Office 2016 Preview on my Windows 10, everything is working properly except Outlook and I can't find why. When I launch Outlook, I'm prompted with those messages:

I wanted to repair my account but I'm not able to launch mlcfg32.cpl. I've got an error: The OS is not configured to run this application.

It seems no one had the same problem :/ Any idea on this bug?

I'm perfectly running Office 2k10 alongside with Office 2k16.

    Thanks for your help
Although some have succeeded in running .msi (retail perpetual license) versions of Office side x side with Office 365 (subscription) it doesn't always work. Microsoft's official stance is that running the two on the same system is not supported.

Try removing Office 2010 and see if that cures your problem.

Anyone else getting a popup that the trial has expired, and the option to "upgrade" to purchase a full version?
Diggy, I'm not sure, but you should have something like a three month or one month trial period, according to which preview you have. Check to see what your initial trial period is/was.

Edit: Dude is correct; I'm not completely up to date on the public trial periods yet. I don't think the public preview has been out for 180 days yet.

If you went to office.microsoft.com and clicked on "trial", I don't think that's the public preview. That would most likely only give you a one month trial period.

I've just uninstalled Office 2K10 but I've still the same error, but I'm now able to configure/repair my profile. I can't set my Exchange configuration entirely an I think that's why I can't connect my account. For the moment I stay with my old Office version!

    Thanks for your help

Its the same version that I've installed on three other machines, and I've not got that message. My only guess is I'm getting the message on that machine because its on Windows 7, or because that particular machine is part of a corporate domain. The other three that I've installed are on Windows 10 (machine I'm typing on now, and I just checked and have 164 days left in the trial), Windows 8.1, and a Windows 8.1 VM on a Mac. Just a guess - no big deal though

    **Update**
Just went and entered the key to convert to a full license, and it accepted, and now states the trial period will expire in 169 days.

    Hi there

After upgrading to build 10122 I was requested to activate Office 2016 preview again. Activation via the web worked just fine. It will expire sometime in November which is AFTER the expiration of the current Windows 10 build (10122 -- Expiry Oct 02 2015).

    Cheers

Wow, looks like Microsoft is giving you the rest of your trial period before the full subscription starts. Probably they want you to continue with the Preview until the trial period ends.

Since I clean install new builds of Windows 10, I keep a copy of the Office 365 script on my external hard drive.

Dang!, this was utterly painless to go from Office Pro 2013 to Office Pro 2016. I simply uninstalled Office Pro 2013 and installed 2016. I did not have to change or do any settings with Outlook (finally!) My sig was there, my POP account and password was already loaded in. I did not have to figure out which .pst file to use so it went from one to the other with eactly the same messages in the inbox, sent, etc. It just seamlessly worked! That is a significant plus.

The new Outlook is fast in starting up, twice as fast as before.

Wow, John, you're already on the build I have! It may be that when you boot up in the morning that Outlook will take a bit longer to load than when you've shut it down and reopened with Windows 10 running.

Hi there I think this comment is allowed - there is an NDA but I think this is OK. The latest update installs OFFICE 2016 just fine and works OK. Office 2010 is left untouched so you can run BOTH concurrently. OUTLOOK 2016 though uses the same...
