Right now its saving the file to USB..I wsent into BIOS and I only have external drive, internal optical disc drive, internal hard disc drive and network so I moved up External drive to the beginning and clicked enabled I assume that is what I have to do
You will then want to download the iso by way of the MC Tool save to folder option which covers everything and be prepared for the manual upgrade as I had to see here on the Toshiba 17" ordered back in January which apparently had the TH2 preinstalled. The RS1 didn't show when going to update that as well as on the main still running the 386 Insider and the seconrdary with 393.5 where those two already running the RS1 only Insider not general had to be manually tended to as well as the 3rd desktop which saw the TH2 upgrade from 7 just lately in order to grab the offer as well as update things for the system which presently lacks any ISP.
(That situation is another matter entirely there!)
Either blank dvd'rs or you might consider grabbing a few flash drives. It depends on the system itself as far as what you can boot from as well as flash drives being rewriteable compared to R not RW disks some will try. Since the dual edition iso either 32bit or 64bit may be over 5gb you may want to consider 8gb for flash drives.
Previously for the 10586 Insider that proceeded the TH2 update being the same build following the 10576 and 10565 builds the Tech Bench downloads climbed to 5.5gb for the 64bit and still over 4gb on the 32bit with those. The MC Tool saved iso just seen however is 3.38gb until looked at afterwards to find 3.37gb being the file size ready for write to a typical 4gb drive not being split into 4 separate edition but combining only the necessary files to cover both Home and Pro in both 32/64bit flavors as far as updating the main things.
As for the MC Tool itself each time a newer version of the tool is uploaded it be made available at: Windows 10
To verify the iso you download is correct as far as not simply being the Threshold 2 update/all loose updates but the Redstone 1 ready to go I set it up a fast temp VM in order to initially view the build number. The download servers at this would no longer be seeing the TH2 with the RS1 out except for archives. The main download pages will now only be seeing the RS1 itself either in dual edition or the quad iso the MC Tool sees.
I found a thumb drive and am installing it to the thumb drive now..I also went into the BIOS on my laptop and I see EXTERNAL DRIVE as well as internal optical disc so I changed it to have external appear first is that right because I dont see anything about USB here just external drive so I hope that it works
With laptops besides manually mounting the iso on a flash drive plugged to only see the update go on not a full install however I ended up needed to burn a dvd or two when first going to upgrade an older 7 HP model. The other Toshiba was a replacement when the HP gave out in December after 4yrs. time.
That had been a brand new model out and still... with 10 already on didn't try any live booting as of yet but will be getting to that to see if USB HDD or other usb booting is capable for the Sept. 2016 brand new model. Otherwise dvd-r for full clean install.At least with the desktops I always have the choice of other options available.

Yeah I think something is up here..I put it on the USB stick..saved in BIOS the external drive, and saved it by pressing F10, when I pressed reboot I popped in the USB stick but nothing is happening..Ok now something is happening..a message appeared asking me if I want to continue doing a clean installation press NO so that is what Im doing and now it says setup starting...
Its installing now..asked me what version I wanted I said Windows 10 PRO..but it says its from July 2016 so I hope that this works..I compared it to the version someone mentioned above and it was an exact match
You should be reading Version 1607 and Build 14393.10 otherwise you have an Insider build which wouldn't be likely. All the latest Insider RS1 builds would show 1607 while only the update will show the 10 after the 14393 for 14393.10 verification. The edition will be according to which one you are replacing by clean install.
These other Insider builds were already out before uploaded to the download server and only saw a few last minute twists before the August 2nd scheduled date arrived. Otherwise you can't expect to find any major differences since those also show permanent activation status. The 10 simply points out the final build ready for general distribution while the other 393s were still the same.
yeah I got the media creation tool straight from microsoft and it matches the above pic so its not the insider build for sure its the final one hopefully my previous activation will still work on this since it is the windows 10 PRO..when I installed the disc earlier(the one with version 1511) it said it was already activated so I think even though I do a clean install the activation still stays embedded onto the disc drive just crossing fingers that this works and that I have the anniversary update now
What the heck..it rebooted after it installed the files now it brings me back to install now?? what did I do wrong?
Im trying this again but at no point when the laptop rebooted did I get ANY message about pressing any key I just left everything alone, like when I did it with the disc, and it goes ahead and asks me to install everything again this is nuts
Turns out I had to take out the USB thumb drive AFTER it finished now its on getting ready
