Mounting it manually as we speak using the freeware app. With the RS1 version 1607 14385 build already on without the Get Insider builds option enabled the update will have to be manual here since the RS1 is already seen as being installed while being the previous build number not the general release form of an anniversary build. The second desktop will need to see that as well already having the 14393 Insider version running.

Thanks for the reply, when I tried again the Upgrade Assistant app went into an endless loop with the message about finding the latest version. Had to restart the PC to stop it.
Third time lucky the Upgrade Assistant worked OK and update was completed.

    Can someone please tell me:

    - Which ISO provides the install.wim file?

The ISO from the updated Media Creation Tool or the x64 link of the ISO added in the 1st post tip of this thread?

    Thank you!

A couple of other things I can mention here before the initial restart is that now you see or should be seeing a totally all blue splash screen not the black screen with large percentage indicator.

The initial EULA screen proceeds the screen going totally blue however when manually starting the update by upgrade using the 3rd party image mounting app. And away we go at the first restart.

Try the links in first post. I used MCT to get both x86 and x64 in a single ISO and they both have Install.esds. Just a hunch judging by the reported size of the links.

Since this is just a hunch, can you please confirm Brink ?

    Thanks for this; Brink -
    Download 64-bit Windows 10 Anniversary ISO (4.07 GB): http://software-download.microsoft.c...cf6763a9a8127b

Download, mounted ISO and did in-place upgrade. Took bit more than an hour but succeeded w/o any hitches. Now personalizing.

The MCTool will auto detect the 32bit or 64bit OS you are running before seeing anything downloaded when leaving the "use recommended" box checked off. The build number for the general update itself is 14393.10 replacing the last Insider build 14393.5 proceeded a day earlier by the 14393.0 or 14393.

The mounted iso upgrade install went just as smooth on physical as it had when tried previously on VM tests.

If you happen to already be running a late Insider build you may not even see the 14393.10 even arrive by way of the WU as the second testing build still hasn't to replace the 14393.5 on there at the moment. The other desktop and three laptops will be coming along later to see the TH2 replaced by RS1.
