Recently I've been using one of the few modern apps that can show tv. But they're not as good as WMC was.
@swarfega What's it called so I can give it a try.

I didn't used it, but as far as i know, there are lots of people who use it in their everyday life, so they shouldn't kill it...

You really can't expect Microsoft to support every tiny thing forever. There are so many alternatives to WMC these days, it just doesn't make any sense for them to keep it around. The vast majority of people out there have their own dedicated DVR's or Roku's or AppleTV's or whatever... I personally use TiVo and would never bother with anything else.

However, there are still plenty of apps out there, and i'd bet several of them are a lot better than WMC.. but of course a lot of it comes down to personal preference.

Plex media center is also a nice program. It runs well on Windows 10. I believe there is a store app as well.

Well that is a deal breaker for me and at least 3 of my PC's. They run Windows 7 Media center to record off air HD TV, to playback DVD and recorded TV. I use another program that plays Blu rays but uses the media center remote. That is three machines that will never see Windows 10 and 2 of them may be upgraded to 8.1 when 7 dies. Typical Microsoft, create a market for something then push everyone else to the sidelines and then kill it
Oh and for all of you who say try this and that............As Father Ted said Feck off, Media Center just works. Ten is looks like a steaming pile anyway with its focus on full screen craps and mobile devices. Believe me there are a LOT of users of Media Center out there and they will be making a lot of noise over this.

Seriously that makes Windows 10 a hard sell for FREE without the functions that are available on 7 & 8.1. Never mind that it looks bad and is trying to be a jack of all trades and will end up as a master of none. 10 is not for me on 3 of my machines with Media center. Frankly they will have to do better than this. I'll wager there are more Media Center users than there are Windows Phone users. M$ is a long way back in third place in a saturated market. They should have put more focus on the mobile users in Windows 8 by making that a truly mobile OS and giving Desktop users a WINDOWS 7.1. All the technical updates of 8 without the mobile stuff. Now we have 10 which is peeing off the 8.1 users and is still not good enough for me to upgrade too. Many others feel that it is a hard sell from 7 to 10 even though it is free.
